Mural painted in memory of Plymouth 'Morrisons cat'
A beautiful painting has been created to honor a cat that used to welcome customers at a local grocery store.
Grace, who is also affectionately called "the Morrisons cat", was involved in a car accident in December.
Florence, who is 10 years old, mentioned that her cat is quite sociable and loves to be noticed by everyone who passes by.
The painting was created on the exterior wall of a residence across from the Morrisons store on Outland Road, Plymouth. It was requested by Plymouth's Artists Together organization.
In a recent post on Facebook, Mike Vosper, a member of Plymouth Artists Together, expressed that the mural was a suitable way to honor Grace.
He expressed gratitude to Jeremy and Sarah, the two community representatives who provided funding through Plymouth's Artists Together, Jordan, also known as SpraySaint, for his fantastic artistry, and landlord Steve for allowing the use of his wall.
When inquired about the mural, she responded: "It's quite pleasant because it demonstrates their concern for her and that she continues to frequent Morrisons."
She said that Grace was well known in the neighborhood and mentioned that a fundraiser during the painting of the mural had generated £50 for Cats Protection.
Florence mentioned that it was "truly wonderful" that donations in Grace's memory were being used to support other cats. People can contribute through Grace's Facebook page.
A representative from Morrisons stated that Grace was a beloved member of their team, consistently providing excellent customer service and bringing smiles to both customers and colleagues on a daily basis.
