Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez exhibited a commanding display of skill to emerge victorious over Jermell Charlo through unanimous decision in Las Vegas.

The judges gave their scores for the fight and the Mexican superstar won with 119-108, 118-109, and 118-109. He remains as the undisputed super-middleweight champion.

Right from the beginning of the fight, Alvarez had the upper hand by cornering Charlo against the ropes and delivering forceful blows to his body.

At 33 years old, Alvarez managed to land the sole knockdown of the match during the seventh round by using an overhand right and then an uppercut.

Charlo had only been knocked down twice during his entire career. However, he didn't stay down for long as he promptly got back up.

Alvarez maintained control throughout the fight and, even though he didn't manage to land a knockout punch, he secured a powerful win.

Charlo, who hadn't engaged in combat since May of the previous year, moved up two weight divisions to compete in this fight. Although he landed some sturdy blows, he didn't have anything in his arsenal that could halt his adversary.

Alvarez managed to enhance his record, which now stands at an impressive figure of 60-2-2. He successfully defended his world championship titles for the second time this year, after previously emerging victorious over John Ryder of Britain on May 6 while performing in his homeland of Mexico.

After the match, Alvarez stated that no one can surpass this Canelo. The boxer acknowledged that Canelo is an exceptional fighter who possesses excellent ring tactics. Alvarez and his team focused on strategizing how to tackle Canelo's weak spot for a long three months. They left behind their loved ones to train in seclusion amidst the mountains.

I wasn't let down about not achieving the knockout. I feel amazing. This is precisely why we engage in 12 rounds of fighting. Even if I don't secure the knockout, I have 12 rounds to prove that I am the superior fighter, the one that comes out on top. This is precisely why the fight conducts over 12 rounds, to exhibit who trumps over the other.

According to Charlo, he is now keen on facing Terence Crawford, who currently holds the welterweight and super welterweight titles, with an unbeatable record of 40 wins and no losses.

In his words: "I didn't feel like myself in that situation. I don't believe in making excuses, so I accept the outcome. I'll take the hits and move on."

I plan to get back to 154 pounds. Earlier today, I weighed around 172 or 173 pounds. I will allow myself to make this change. I am satisfied with my progress. Despite not winning, I managed to stay in the fight without getting knocked out like the other guys. Although my opponent hit me hard multiple times, I think I managed to return some heavy punches as well.
