UK’s easyJet Launches First-Ever Cairo Flights to Sphinx International Airport | Egyptian Streets
easyJet, a prominent British airline, has enthusiastically initiated its inaugural flights to Sphinx International Airport in Cairo, marking a significant milestone in the company's history. This commendable move demonstrates their commitment to expanding their operations and presence in the Egyptian capital.
In a historic move, easyJet, the British airline, has introduced a fresh non-stop pathway connecting London Luton Airport with Cairo through the recently established Sphinx International Airport (SIA).
Three times per week, flights are scheduled to operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays all year round, commencing from October 31st.
By making this declaration, Cairo has now joined the roster of EasyJet's 157 scheduled stops, alongside the well-liked vacation spots of Sharm El-Sheikh and Hurghada, which are already included in the low-priced airline's flight network within Egypt.
"We are pleased that easyJet has selected London Luton Airport as the starting point for its flights to Cairo. As the capital of Egypt, Cairo boasts several renowned landmarks and will undoubtedly be a popular choice for travelers departing from LLA," expressed Jonathan Rayner, the Chief Commercial Officer of London Luton Airport.
The news arrived following Wizz Air's declaration of expansion plans, as Europe's rapidly expanding airline and the prominent ultra-low-cost airline in the Middle East. Their latest addition involves introducing a new flight route connecting London Luton Airport to Egypt's Sphinx International Airport located in Cairo.
Situated to the west of Cairo, in nearness to the iconic Giza Pyramids and the esteemed Grand Egyptian Museum, Sphinx International Airport was initially unveiled in January 2020. Following its debut, the airport underwent renovations, including the addition of more flights and an expansion of its capacity to accommodate a staggering 1,100,000 passengers annually.
