A new famous person has become a part of the Chiefs Kingdom. Brittany Mahomes talked Post Malone into wearing a jacket with the team's logo during the afterparty for the Super Bowl in Kansas City. This surprised fans a lot because the singer had supported a different team before.
Malone, also known as Austin Richard Post, was present in Las Vegas to sing an anthem at Allegiant Stadium on Sunday. He was chosen to perform "America the Beautiful" out of the three anthems that were played at the event.
However, he joined the Chiefs team following their 25-22 overtime victory over the San Francisco 49ers. During his appearance at Zouk Nightclub at the Resorts World Las Vegas, he shared the stage with Marshmello and The Chainsmokers.
The musician who is 28 years old, and comes from Grapevine, Texas - a suburb of Dallas, showed that he was prepared to temporarily forget about his love for the Cowboys just for the sake of a song. The father of Malone, whose name is Rich, worked as the concession manager for the Cowboys during the early 2000s.
However, video from the post-event celebration displayed Mahomes taking the spotlight to convince Malone to exchange his Cowboys coat for a Chiefs garment.
Initially, Brittany Mahomes needed to persuade Post Malone to abandon his Cowboys jacket above all else.
Upon spotting Malone donning a Kansas City Chiefs jacket, Brittany was overjoyed during the squad's celebration at Zouk Nightclub in Resorts World Las Vegas.
Malone was initially resistant to the idea of removing his jacket. Mahomes attempted to assist by taking the Cowboys jacket off his back, which took Malone by surprise.
After some negotiation, Malone eventually decided to put on the red garment representing Kansas City. However, he made it clear to Mahomes that he would only sport her husband's team jacket for a brief period, maybe just for one song.
Users of X (previously known as Twitter) and individuals on XS gave kudos to Malone for his humorous take on the matter.
A fan expressed their admiration for Post Malone, stating that they found it nice of him to put on a jacket of the Kansas City Chiefs sports team.
One person shared on Twitter that Post Malone is the most awesome individual.
Before the Super Bowl commenced, Post Malone performed 'America The Beautiful', which was one of the three anthems.
The rapper and vocalist from the United States put on his Cowboys jacket afterwards and donned it while at the game.
"I absolutely adore this! He's now one of the [Chiefs] fans. Being a Texan, I understand the rivalry but he can support the team by wearing red. Haha," commented a female individual.
Some people saw Malone's willingness to wear the red of the Kansas City Chiefs as a nod to the shared history between the Chiefs and the Dallas Cowboys.
A person said that it's not too bad that the Chiefs were in Dallas before the Cowboys came into existence, in all fairness.
Malone once got a well-known tattoo of the Chiefs team as a reminder of a beer pong game lost to Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce in 2020.
