Wolfsburg 2-3 Bayern Munich: Vincent Kompany gets off to winning start after Serge Gnabry seals victory late on - Eurosport
Harry Kane helped Serge Gnabry score the winning goal in Bayern Munich's exciting 3-2 win against Wolfsburg in their first Bundesliga game of the season.
Michael Olise appeared for Bayern in his first game and they were in control during the first half. They had many opportunities to score more goals than just Jamal Musiala's.
The second part of the game took a different turn, with the home team scoring two goals in just 10 minutes after the break, thanks to Lovro Majer.
Musiala's shot hit the crossbar not long after, and when Thomas Muller came in during the middle of the half, it was a game-changer. Jakub Kaminski ended up scoring an own goal in a last-ditch attempt to prevent Bayern's top Bundesliga appearance player from scoring.
This resulted in an exciting following 20 minutes as both teams had good opportunities to score before Kane set up Gnabry to score the winning goal with eight minutes remaining.
"Exciting, But Sustainable Conversation"
The game was peculiar. Bayern Munich dominated in the first half, and Manuel Neuer could have easily brought a chair out to relax in the sun without any real challenges.
Even though they controlled the game, they didn't create a lot of scoring opportunities, with Gnabry missing a crucial chance before halftime. A shaky start to the second half, with Goey fouling Tiago Tomas in the penalty area, caused chaos in the defense. Kim Min-jae almost allowed Tomas to score in the first half and then made a costly mistake by giving the ball to Patrick Wimmer, who set up Lovro Majer for the opponent's lead.
The exciting attacking power was evident as the team scored goals and had many chances to score. However, Wolfsburg also had many opportunities, especially in the second half, which may cause Bayern fans to question if they can defeat Bayer Leverkusen this season.
Joao Palhinha, who was a substitute, will likely join the starting lineup in the midfield, adding more stability. Eric Dier replacing Kim will also provide added security. However, with two dynamic and attacking full backs and three forward players focused on scoring, there may need to be further strategic adjustments to prevent Bayern from dropping points this season, like they almost did against Wolfsburg.
Jamal Musiala Shines As Player Of The Match
The standout player in the first half was Sacha Boey, who worked well with Michael Olise and Musiala on the right side. However, he faced tougher challenges in the second half as Wolfsburg forced him to defend more. Musiala was a dominant force in attack throughout the game, creating opportunities for his teammates and scoring a goal in the first half. He almost scored again in the second half. There is a lot of competition for attacking positions with players like Gnabry, Olise, Mathys Tel, Coman, and Muller, but Musiala is likely to be a consistent presence in the lineup.
In Wolfsburg, the team lined up with Grabara in goal with Fischer, Bornauw, Zesiger, and Kaminski in defense. In midfield, Arnold and Svanberg were joined by Baku, Majer, and Tomas, with Wimmer leading the attack.
