Bayern Munich has declared that Harry Kane will be out of action "for the time being" due to a slight hamstring injury.
The England forward had to leave the game just 33 minutes into Bayern's 1-1 tie against Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga on Saturday.
After the match, manager Vincent Kompany mentioned that Kane felt the injury wasn't too serious and would undergo a scan to determine how significant the issue is.
On Sunday morning, the club's website provided an update stating: "Harry Kane sustained a slight muscle strain in his right hamstring during FC Bayern's Bundesliga game against Borussia Dortmund yesterday."
“This was verified through a scan conducted by the FC Bayern medical team. As a result, Bayern will be missing Kane, 31, for the foreseeable future.”
Kane has had an impressive beginning to the season with the German club, netting 20 goals in 19 matches across all competitions.
Bayern has five more matches to play before their Christmas break. They will face Bayer Leverkusen in the DFB-Pokal on Tuesday, then take on Heidenheim, Mainz, and RB Leipzig in the league. Additionally, they will compete against Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League.
“Harry’s contributions are tough to replicate, but we've always had faith in our team,” Kompany remarked after the draw against Dortmund. “It’s impossible to find another player of his caliber, but our guys have the ability to come together and fill that gap.”
