Saltburn native Barry Keoghan has landed a role in the upcoming Peaky Blinders movie set to be released on Netflix.

The upcoming film, set in Birmingham, will delve into the story of the well-known Shelby clan during the events of World War II.

Irish actor Keoghan, famous for his performance in The Banshees Of Inisherin, will be teaming up with Rebecca Ferguson from the movie Dune. However, the roles they will be playing have not been revealed yet.

The movie will start filming in late 2024, at a secret spot within the city.

The famous BBC historical crime show aired for six seasons from 2013 to 2022. It explores the rise of the Shelby clan starting from the aftermath of World War I.

The main actor in the show is Cillian Murphy, who won an Oscar. He is coming back to play the character of gangster Tommy Shelby.

Murphy, who will collaborate on producing the movie, described it as a project catered towards the loyal fan base.

The person who made the show, Steven Knight, will write and create the upcoming movie. He has mentioned before that it will be an intense part of the story with no restrictions.
