Olmo scores winner on Barcelona debut

Dani Olmo finally played his first game in Spanish football, years after he left the country as a teenager.

Dani Olmo scored his first goal for Barcelona shortly after officially joining the team. This helped Hansi Flick's team come from behind to continue their successful start in La Liga.

Olmo returned to Barcelona from RB Leipzig for a reported 60 million euros (approximately 51 million pounds) at the beginning of the month. However, he was unable to participate in matches due to the strict financial regulations in the Spanish top division.

However, when Ilkay Gundogan returned to Manchester City and Clement Lenglet transferred to Atletico Madrid, the 26-year-old was able to play for Rayo Vallecano.

And the midfielder scored the decisive goal towards the end of the game, bending the ball into the net with their left foot following excellent assistance from their teammate, Lamine Yamal, who was also a standout player for Spain in the Euro 2024 tournament.

Barcelona is currently leading La Liga after competing in three matches and is the only team that has won every game so far.

Unai Lopez scored first for the home team and maintained the lead until the 60th minute, when Pedri exchanged a pass with Raphinha and smoothly netted the ball.

Olmo began his career at Barcelona before moving to Dinamo Zagreb at 16 without playing a match. However, he made a big impact with a superb goal that earned his team the win and the attention of the media.
