A 17-year-old has been identified as the suspect in the murder of three girls who were stabbed at a Taylor Swift-themed dance class in Southport.

Axel Muganwa Rudakubana is facing additional charges for his alleged involvement in the attack on Monday, which left eight children and two adults with serious injuries. He is now accused of 10 counts of attempted murder in connection with the incident.

The person accused, who comes from the small village of Banks in Lancashire, showed up in Liverpool Crown Court and is also accused of having a curved kitchen knife.

He was sent to a juvenile detention center.

The teenage boy from Cardiff, whose name could not be disclosed before because he was underage, is now able to be identified thanks to a ruling by Judge Andrew Menary KC of Liverpool. This decision was made after requests from the press.

The person being accused of a crime will be 18 years old next week.

The judge mentioned that he was aware of false information that had been circulating about the defendant's identity.

Southport experienced a night of chaos on Tuesday after a memorial vigil for the victims, with demonstrators congregating near a mosque in the Merseyside town.

Five males were taken into custody - with one later accused of having a knife - following the ignition of a police van and the hurling of bricks, resulting in injuries to 53 officers.

Another Section 60 order, giving police more authority to conduct stop and search, was implemented on Thursday evening to reduce violence.

This is in addition to the initial Section 60 order that was implemented for a period of 24 hours starting at 5:00 PM BST on Wednesday evening.

The newest command was put in place at 6:00 PM British Summer Time and will be in effect for a full day, with additional police officers in the vicinity, according to Merseyside Police.

Judge Menary stated that by not allowing full reporting at this point, there is a risk of individuals spreading false information unchecked.

Elsie Dot Stancombe, Alice Dasilva Aguiar, and Bebe King passed away as a result of the assault.

He recognized that his decision was unusual, but he stated that it was necessary to prioritize allowing the public to have full access to information about these proceedings.

Disputing the decision to reveal the defendant's identity, the prosecution claimed that he had been diagnosed with a condition on the autism spectrum and had avoided social interactions and staying home for a certain period of time.

He went to a youth court hearing around 09:00 BST, arriving in a prison van with plenty of police officers.

Facing a full room of journalists, he stole a quick look at the reporters before being instructed to take a seat in front of District Judge James Hatton.

The person being accused of a crime wore a grey tracksuit that was given to him by the police. He pulled his sweatshirt up to cover his nose and looked down during the short hearing that lasted for five minutes. He stayed quiet and did not say anything.

No relatives of the victims or the accused were present in the courtroom.

The person charged with a crime will go to Liverpool Crown Court on 25 October for a pre-trial meeting to get ready for the trial.

The young adult remained silent and concealed his face during his court appearance.

Children named Bebe King, age six, Elsie Dot Stancombe, age seven, and Alice Dasilva Aguiar, age nine, passed away following a stabbing incident on Hart Street in a town located in Merseyside. The tragic event occurred shortly before noon on Monday.

Eight kids and two grown-ups were also hurt badly.

Earlier today, Alder Hey Children's Hospital announced that two children who were being cared for there have been released.

The hospital reported that it was still caring for five other kids, and all of them were currently in a stable state.

"We are happy to announce that two of the children who were part of the unfortunate event on Monday have been released from the hospital."

We continue to feel deep sorrow for everyone who has been impacted.

The hospital also expressed gratitude to Taylor Swift's supporters for donating over £340,000.

Started by two individuals from the Taylor Swift UK & EU Facebook Group, the fundraiser has received contributions from supporters globally.

The hospital expressed gratitude for embracing the essence of Taylor's music and for putting empathy into action.

People are still leaving flowers in Southport.

After the chaos in Southport on Tuesday, more unrest spread to different parts of England. There were over 100 arrests at a protest in central London on Wednesday night.

There were also occurrences in Hartlepool, Manchester, and Aldershot.

Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer promised to take decisive steps in response to the chaotic events during a gathering with top police officials at Downing Street.

In a speech on TV later, he outlined plans for military units all over the country to work together more closely to address these types of incidents.

He called the extensive chaos the work of a small, thoughtless group and criticized the hate from far-right individuals.

The leader of the country said: "These troublemakers are constantly on the move, going from one neighborhood to another, and we need a police force that can keep up with them."

After the attack on Monday, the families of Bebe King and Alice Dasilva Aguiar shared heartfelt messages and requested to be given space to grieve in private.

Bebe's family expressed that they are struggling to deal with the overwhelming devastation of their loss, stating that no words can adequately convey their grief.

Alice's family told her to continue smiling and dancing like she always does, because she is their beloved Princess.
