West Ham 0-6 Arsenal: Gunners inflate goal difference in Premier League title race with crushing win - Eurosport

Arsenal

In a remarkable performance at the London Stadium, Arsenal defeated West Ham 6-0, with Bukayo Saka scoring two goals and Declan Rice, a former West Ham player, scoring once. This win helps Arsenal to reduce the gap to Liverpool, who are currently leading the table.

It seemed like a tricky situation for The Gunners since they had lost to The Hammers two times earlier this season. However, David Moyes’ team didn't look like they would win for the third time as the visiting team demonstrated their impressive skills, affirming their chances of becoming champions.

In the match, William Saliba scored the first goal after thirty minutes by easily heading the ball from a corner taken from the left side by Rice. Later, Saka redeemed himself after missing a couple of clear-cut chances by confidently converting a penalty kick four minutes before half-time.

In just a matter of minutes, Mikel Arteta's team scored their third goal. Gabriel's header from a set piece earned him a celebratory moment as it marked his 150th appearance for the club. This led to a mass exodus of West Ham fans feeling defeated. To rub salt into the wound, Leandro Trossard scored a remarkable fourth goal during first-half stoppage time.

After the game resumed, the same thing happened and Saka shot a strong, low goal towards the post closest to him. This marked the impressive milestone of 100 goal contributions throughout his time playing for Arsenal.

Rice dealt a heavy blow to his former team by scoring an impressive 25-yard curling shot, which he chose not to celebrate after 65 minutes of play. The rest of the match was relatively uneventful as West Ham simply went through the motions, resulting in a highly one-sided game that ended with boos from the crowd at the final whistle.

Arsenal have achieved victory in every single one of their four league matches so far this year, which has allowed them to close in on Liverpool, who are currently at the top of the table with only two more points than Arsenal. Manchester City is ahead of Arsenal in second place based on the number of goals scored. On the other hand, West Ham has not managed to win any of their last five league games since the start of the current year and are in eighth position at the moment.

Coming up next, Arsenal will be playing against Burnley on Saturday, while West Ham will visit Nottingham Forest.

Arsenal's Title Challenge Gains Momentum

Arteta likely knew that it was important to follow up last week's great win against Liverpool, and his team did just that by dominating and impressively defeating their opponent.

Liverpool and Manchester City won their matches on Saturday, which meant that it was crucial for The Gunners to keep up with them. They faced a tough opponent who had previously caused them a lot of trouble this season.

It's the truth that it didn't seem likely that Arsenal team would win with such a dominating performance. The team is currently brimming with confidence and it appears that they have overcome their previous problem of not scoring enough goals.

It's too soon to tell, but the competition for the title is getting intense and there are definitely three contenders based on what we've seen so far.

Declan Rice Named Player Of The Match

The player had a bad experience when he came back to the London Stadium in November for a Carabao Cup match. He came on as a substitute and his team lost 3-1. But when he played in the Premier League, he was amazing. He played really well and helped his team win by making two assists and scoring a great goal. He didn't celebrate his goal because he didn't want to disrespect his old fans.

The penalty was given after Saka was fouled by the West Ham keeper while he was making his way towards the goal area. This marks Saka's 50th goal for Arsenal, adding to his record of achievements.

In the 43rd minute, Gabriel scores a goal for Arsenal against West Ham making the score 0-3. The goal was made from a set piece and Gabriel took advantage of being unmarked to head the ball into the net. Rice contributed with a great delivery from the left-wing.

He received a pass from Odegaard and then skillfully cut inside before shooting a low ball towards the near post, resulting in a goal. The scoreline is now 0-5 in favor of Arsenal.

In the 65th minute of the game between West Ham and Arsenal, Rice scored a stunning goal from a distance of 25 yards. This must have been a tough pill for the West Ham supporters to swallow as he used to be a player for them. However, the shot was precise and flew into the far corner of the net. Arsenal is now leading 6-0.
