Saka scores twice as ruthless Arsenal thrash Burnley

Arsenal

Kai Havertz expressed that Arsenal is a united team after they continued to achieve a high number of goals to dominate Burnley. This also meant that they narrowed the point difference at the top of the Premier League to only two points.

After claiming a victory with a score of 6-0 against West Ham recently, Arsenal managed to score a goal early on again in their next match. Martin Odegaard, team captain, swiftly opened the scoring just 4 minutes into the game with a sharp hit into the bottom corner of the net after receiving a pass from Gabriel Martinelli.

Bukayo Saka made the most of a penalty kick opportunity and scored a goal, increasing their team's advantage in the game. This happened because Lorenz Assignon made a foul on Leandro Trossard in the penalty area.

"We are currently in a positive phase, winning all of our games thus far. This definitely feels great," declared Havertz post-match.

Achieving that required a lot of effort and there are numerous challenging matches yet to be played. It is important that we continue to put in the hard work.

During the start of the game's second half, Saka, a player for England, scored his second goal. Arsenal maintained their quick pace by capitalizing on a smart pass made by Odegaard. Saka then expertly cut inside the defenders before delivering a powerful shot that somehow found its way into the top part of the net.

Havertz attempted a shot but it was not hit cleanly and was obstructed in the penalty area. However, Trossard was vigilant and managed to execute a beautiful curling shot for his third goal in three league matches.

In the match, Jakub Kiwior made a lengthy toss towards the sideline. This pass reached Havertz, who was not being guarded by any opponent, and quickly rushed past the opposing team's goalkeeper James Trafford. This goal greatly contributed to Arsenal's dominant victory.

Arsenal have achieved five consecutive wins, scoring a total of 21 goals in the process. This places them just two points away from the leading team, Liverpool. In contrast, Burnley remains in a position where they are at risk of being relegated.

Gunners Dominate In Impressive Away Win

The Arsenal football team has continued their winning streak with five back-to-back victories in the league, which is a new milestone in their history. They played exceptionally well against Burnley, impressing fans with their polished style of play. This success comes after their outstanding triumph at the London Stadium last week.

The talented Gunners team were playing their best and they could have even scored more goals at Turf Moor. Trossard had two opportunities to score before he finally succeeded.

Havertz kept posing a challenge by finding open areas on the field without the ball, while Saka, Trossard, and Martinelli swapped positions inside the penalty area to frequently create danger.

Odegaard served as a role model by scoring a goal for the first time since December 2 and assisting Saka with his second strike.

For the initial time in his career, Saka has managed to score in four straight league games, hitting the back of the net six times in those matches. This is more goals than he scored in his previous 19 league games.

It's tough to halt Mikel Arteta's team when they're playing exceptionally well.

"We're extremely happy because Burnley is a challenging team to play against, and they've presented a tough fight in the significant matches they've participated in this season," the manager of Arsenal stated in an interview with BBC Match of the Day.

Our team is fostering a competitive spirit among ourselves. It's an absolute delight to collaborate with them, to see how they dedicate themselves and train daily, and to witness their hunger for progress.

It is a positive attribute that they desire an increased amount.

Arsenal managed to keep two clean sheets in a row this season, which is only the second time they have done so. Goalkeeper David Raya did not need to make any saves during the game.

Arteta's team will be visiting Porto for their match-up in the last 16 of the Champions League this coming Wednesday. Following this, they will be back in their home ground to host Newcastle on Saturday (20:00 GMT), whilst attempting to sustain their impeccable start to the year.

Burnley Loses Again At Home, Dealt Another Blow

Burnley suffered a massive loss at home and displayed a poor performance. Vincent Kompany, the manager, watched dejectedly from the stands due to being banned from the touchline.

For the initial time since Boxing Day, Burnley was unable to try to score a goal and was under immense pressure from the beginning of the match.

In 25 matches this season, Kompany's squad has allowed 26 goals during the first half, which is the highest amount compared to any other team in the Premier League.

Burnley faces an uphill battle to stay in the league, having suffered from poor defending. Failing to keep up with Havertz's run and being caught off guard by Arsenal's long throw that led to their fifth goal exemplifies their struggles. They currently have seven points separating them from safety.

To add to their already terrible situation, Aaron Ramsey, the midfielder, had to be taken off on a stretcher after hurting his knee badly and needing oxygen in the 63rd minute.
