A lawyer representing the family of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins has expressed that Alec Baldwin should show basic respect by apologizing for his actions.

Attorney Gloria Allred, who is advocating for Ms. Hutchins' sister and parents in a lawsuit to receive compensation, stated this after a criminal case against the actor for manslaughter was dismissed.

Baldwin recently made his first statement since the case was thrown out on Friday.

He expressed his gratitude on Instagram, acknowledging that there are numerous individuals who have supported him and deserve his thanks.

"I am so grateful for all the kindness you have shown to my family," he said.

The case for accidental killing against Baldwin in the tragic shooting of Ms. Hutchins on the Rust set was dropped yesterday.

The actor, who has won awards for his performances, cried and embraced his lawyers after judge Mary Marlowe Sommer made her ruling.

She and his legal team both believed that the prosecutors and law enforcement failed to provide all the information regarding where the live ammunition used to kill Ms. Hutchins in 2021 came from.

She dismissed the case three days into the trial in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and 18 months after the charges were made.

Addressing the media at a press briefing over the weekend, Ms Allred expressed her thoughts on Baldwin, suggesting that he should demonstrate basic human decency by apologizing directly to the parents via phone call or Facetime.
