Ian Gelder: Game Of Thrones actor dies aged 74 after being diagnosed with bile duct cancer

Ian Gelder, who was famous for starring in Games Of Thrones, passed away at the age of 74.

Ben Daniels, who is also an actor and the partner of the deceased, publicly revealed that his loved one had passed away. Daniels honored his late spouse by describing him as an individual who was full of kindness, generosity and love towards others.

Daniels, who is 59 years old, mentioned that Gelder was his constant support during their relationship that lasted for over 30 years.

The actor from Great Britain who portrayed the character of Kevan Lannister in the popular fantasy TV show was found to have bile duct cancer in December last year. Unfortunately, he passed away at just past 1pm on Monday, according to Daniels.

The famous individual shared a message through their social media platform expressing their immense sorrow and devastation in announcing the passing of their beloved spouse and lifelong companion, Ian Gelder.

In addition to his declaration on Instagram, Daniels posted a snapshot of the pair that he mentioned was captured during the Christmas holidays after Gelder had been discharged from the hospital.

According to Daniels, despite enduring a challenging period of three weeks, the happiness and affection within him are still evident.

Back in 2011, Gelder made his debut as Kevan Lannister in the premiere season of Game Of Thrones.

He was Lord Tywin Lannister's little sibling and served as one of his fierce and dependable commanders in the Lannister military.

Gelder was not seen for a while but then came back in later seasons. Sadly, he died in the last episode of season six.

Throughout his years in the entertainment industry, the performer also played the role of Mr. Dekker in Torchwood: Children Of Earth, in addition to making appearances as Charles, the knowledgeable Librarian in His Dark Materials, and Zellin in Doctor Who.

Daniels mentioned that he halted his job to take care of someone, but they both didn't anticipate that everything would happen so quickly.

He stated that Gelder was "the nicest, most openhanded and affectionate person".

He was an exceptional performer and his heart and positive energy impacted everyone who collaborated with him.

Honestly, I have no idea how I'll manage without him beside me. He handled his terrible illness so courageously and never once showed any signs of self-pity. He was truly remarkable and his absence will be deeply felt.
