‘A rollercoaster of emotions’: Father of Lydia Ross thanks Chelsea FC for tribute

Paul Ross expressed his gratitude towards the club for acknowledging his daughter in their game brochure.

Lydia's dad, Paul, recently hung out with Mark Worrall, who is known for writing books about the football club Chelsea FC.

The dad of a youthful woman from Co Antrim who died in a road accident last December has stated that he will value a tribute to his daughter that has been incorporated into a match programme by her most loved soccer team.

Sadly, Lydia Ross passed away in a car accident that occurred in Aghadowey, Co Antrim on December 29th.

The young person of 21 years old was a big admirer of football, visiting matches at Ballymena United often and taking journeys to Stamford Bridge in London to witness Chelsea FC play.

During the second leg of the Carabao Cup semi-finals, the club paid respect to a woman from Northern Ireland by featuring a tribute to her in the match programme. This was before their victory over Middlesbrough, whom they beat 6-1.

The programme had a picture of Lydia and her dad Paul, and it said: "Remembering Lydia Ross. She was 21 and she really liked going to see games at the Stamford Bridge with her father Paul. They also stayed at the Chelsea Hotel when they came over to London from Northern Ireland."

Paul, who is a father, shared his appreciation on social media platform X for the kind gesture made by the club.

The person expressed that they had many feelings after reading the tribute to Lydia in the Chelsea FC programme. They referred to their experience as a rollercoaster of emotions and thanked the football club for the tribute.

Last month, Mr Ross expressed his gratitude to Chelsea player Ben Chilwell by taking to X. The reason for this was because the defender had sent a letter to Mr Ross's family home in Ballymoney, and he wanted to personally thank him for this kind gesture.

I am aware that she was loved by all who knew her and I wish to inform you that our thoughts are with Hannah and Mollie during this challenging period when they will miss her greatly.
