Zoe Ball announces mum's death after cancer diagnosis
Zoe Ball from BBC Radio 2 is feeling great sorrow after hearing about her mother's passing.
Zoe Ball, who works for BBC, has shared the sad news that her mother Julia Peckham has passed away after battling cancer.
The host of BBC Radio 2 declared on X, once known as Twitter, during the early hours of Wednesday with the statement, "Rest peacefully, beloved Mama."
Zoe Ball has been absent from her morning show, The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show, since receiving a "devastating" diagnosis in March.
The woman who is 53 years old shared that Gaby Roslin will be filling in for her on some occasions in the upcoming weeks.
Honoring her mother, Ball expressed: "We are grateful to you for instructing us on how to love without limits, to consistently present bravery and compassion, and for exemplifying that even in the bleakest of moments, laughter is the ultimate present."
We feel extremely sad and empty without your presence, but we will stay close and support one another tightly.
Beforehand, Ball had expressed that the discovery of cancer was a very challenging period.
Only a few days after the DJ revealed that her mother's condition was getting worse and she had to be transferred to a hospice, the latest update has emerged.
The child of the TV host, Woody Cook, whom she had with her previous spouse Norman Cook, who's popularly known as the British DJ Fatboy Slim, also posted a tribute on Instagram.
"Today, I bid farewell to my beloved Grandma J, expressing my gratitude for being an amazing lady," the 23-year-old declared as he shared a nostalgic photo with his grandmother.
Cook, who featured on Netflix's The Circle reality show in 2019, also mentioned the deceased spouse of his grandmother, Rick Peckham.
He expressed, "The sole individual who never failed to send me a Valentine's card. I am aware that you are currently with Rick, kindly, give him a hug on my behalf."
I remember him telling you when you were scared in a helicopter over the Jungle, "In case you lose your way, just stick with the river! It will lead you to safety."
