Sonakshi Sinha, Zaheer Iqbal get married in private ceremony; Salman Khan and others attend
"We are officially husband and wife," said Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal, a well-known actor couple, following their intimate wedding ceremony surrounded by loved ones.
Sonakshi, aged 37, and Zaheer, aged 35, got married in a simple ceremony at the home of the actress in Bandra West, overlooking the sea. Their families and "both of our gods" gave their blessings for the union.
The couple who recently got married announced their wedding on Instagram together.
Seven years ago today (23.06.2017), we looked into each other's eyes and saw pure love. We promised to cherish it forever.
"Today, our love has helped us navigate through the difficulties and successes... bringing us to this special moment... where, with the approval of our families and faiths, we are now married. Cheers to love, optimism, and all the wonderful things we'll share together, now and always," wrote the couple alongside their wedding photos.
The bride and groom matched in ivory: Sonakshi wore her mother Poonam Sinha's wedding saree and added a sleek bun and floral hair accessory to complete her outfit, while Zaheer donned an embellished kurta-pyjama.
Sonakshi and Zaheer joined forces for the music video of the hit song "Blockbuster" in September 2022. After that successful project, they went on to work together in the comedy drama film "Double XL" a few months later.

The pair did not officially announce that they were dating, but they were frequently seen together at various events and parties. They showed glimpses of their life to their fans through social media posts, such as attending birthday parties, celebrating award wins, and even going on holiday together to go scuba diving.
Aditi Rao Hydari, who stars with Sonakshi in "Heeramandi," was at the wedding with her partner, actor Siddharth, and also guested her friend from the film "Double XL," Huma Qureshi.
The newly married couple held a party for their friends and coworkers at a high-end restaurant in Dadar.
During the celebrations after the wedding, Sonakshi chose to wear a red Banarasi saree while Zaheer went for a white open jacket with a shirt and matching pants.

The party was attended by many famous people from the film industry, such as Salman Khan, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Bela Segal, Gulshan Devaiah, Reema Kagti, Padmini Kolhapure, Qureshi, Saqib Saleem, Siddharth Kak, Mudassar Aziz, Anil Kapoor, Chunky Pandey, Aanand L Rai, Kajol, Saira Banu, Sanjeeda Shaikh, Richa Chadha, Ali Fazal, Yo Yo Honey Singh, Ali Abbas Zafar, Raveena Tandon, Anees Bazmee, Vidya Balan, Siddharth Roy Kapur, and Tabu.
Sonakshi's debut film was produced by her first co-star Salman Khan, who also produced Zaheer's first film "Notebook" in 2019, which was a romantic drama.
The couple gave out boxes of sweets to the media waiting outside the reception venue, along with a thank you note.
"We are so grateful for all the love, joy, and generosity you showed us on our special day! Your support and well wishes are incredibly important to us," Sonakshi and Zaheer expressed in a heartfelt message. While the couple has not officially confirmed it, rumors about their wedding have been circulating on social media for the past month.
Sonakshi's most recent project was the Netflix show "Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar", where she portrayed two characters, Rehaana and Fareedan. Zaheer made a guest appearance in the action movie "Ruslaan".
The wedding festivities began on Thursday with a family gathering for the bride and groom, and continued with a henna ceremony the following day.
The Sinha family held a religious ceremony at their home in Juhu on Saturday night. Their residence, Ramayana, was beautifully decorated with lights.
There were rumors that Sonakshi's dad, veteran actor and TMC MP Shatrughan Sinha, was not happy because his daughter didn't tell the family about the wedding. But those rumors were proved wrong when Shatrughan Sinha was seen looking happy and posing with the groom and his family earlier this week.
Zaheer is the son of well-known jeweler Iqbal Ratansi, who runs a successful business in the city. His sister, Sanam Ratansi, is a popular stylist and designer, specializing in costumes for celebrities.
