WWE Bad Blood 2024

The Rock made his comeback at WWE Bad Blood 2024.

WWE Bad Blood took place at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, featuring five exciting matches, two of which were title bouts. Bad Blood also promoted an eagerly awaited match between Drew McIntyre and CM Punk inside Hell in a Cell. The main event saw Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes joining forces for the first time to face off against the Bloodline.

Last week's episode of WWE Raw attracted an audience of 1.516 million viewers.

CM Punk Defeats Drew McIntyre

The Big 3, consisting of Jade Cargill, Bianca Belair, and Naomi, started the event as the hosts. Right after that, WWE quickly lowered the cage while discussing the intense rivalry between Drew McIntyre and CM Punk.

Drew McIntyre and CM Punk referenced the classic match between Bret Hart and Steve Austin by using a bloody sharpshooter. They appeared to be alluding to the infamous Hell in a Cell match from 1998 that featured thumbtacks, but instead, they ended up using plastic beads for creating a friendship bracelet.

The key elements of this matchup included a wrench, a steel step, a table, and friendship beads. Together, they contributed to an incredible narrative that referenced '90s WWE, while also maintaining the ongoing tensions between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre in their intense rivalry.

Nia Jax Defeats Bayley

Nia Jax donned a shade of red associated with the Bloodline for her recent title match, and it's uncertain whether this was intentional or just a coincidence.

As the match continued, fans enthusiastically cheered for Tiffy, shouting phrases like "Tiffy Time!" and "we want Tiffy!" Bayley engaged with the audience by gesturing toward her wrist.

Jax has been performing at a high level lately, but she made a few mistakes along the way, including a missed pop-up Samoan Drop on Bayley. However, Bayley responded by delivering her own Samoan Drop.

As Jax was causing a commotion, she found herself in the path of referee Jessika Carr, sparking talk of Tiffany Stratton making her entrance. Just when it seemed Bayley had Nia down for a pin, Stratton rushed in and clobbered Bayley with the briefcase. Stratton went to revive Jessika Carr, but Nia Jax suddenly rose up, reminiscent of The Undertaker’s iconic sit-up move.

Damian Priest Defeats Finn Balor

Notable WWE icons present at the event included Quavo, Lil Baby, Goldberg, X-Pac, Arn Anderson, Tully Blanchard, Diamond Dallas Page, Killer Mike, Booker T, and Metro Boomin.

The crowd appeared to be a bit worn out for this match, which had the lowest importance compared to the others on the lineup. Balor's game plan was to take down the larger opponent, and the audience supported Priest as he gained momentum. Priest displayed a lot of passion and is on track to becoming a top-notch fan favorite.

As Priest was nearing victory, Carlito entered the ring and caught the referee's attention. Meanwhile, JD McDonagh launched an attack on Priest outside the ring, which allowed for a Coup de Grace to be executed, but Priest managed to break free just in time.

Priest faced off against Judgment Day, but just when he attempted his South of Heaven move, Balor countered it with a rollup that almost secured him the victory. However, Balor quickly retaliated with a couple more Coup de Graces aimed at Priest's back. Despite the onslaught, Priest ultimately managed to hit the South of Heaven and claimed the win.

Triple H Unveils WWE Crown Jewel Championship

Triple H revealed that there were 16,092 attendees, marking WWE's 60th sellout for 2024. He also shared that this event is the highest-grossing arena event ever held at State Farm Arena.

Triple H made an announcement while holding a championship belt, revealing that in four weeks, the WWE world champion will compete against the WWE champion. Although neither title will be at stake, there will be a clear winner, and that individual will be named the Crown Jewel champion.

Gunther interrupted Triple H and challenged Goldberg. Just a month ago, he had praised Goldberg as his favorite wrestler, but now he criticized his former idol by labeling him a "one-trick pony."

Before Goldberg and GUNTHER could fight—following GUNTHER's insult to Goldberg's parenting—Sami Zayn rushed into the ring and confronted GUNTHER. For additional details about the WWE Crown Jewel Championship, click here.

Rhea Ripley Beats Liv Morgan By DQ

Dominik Mysterio and Liv Morgan made their entrance in Dom's well-known low rider, but Dom was quickly placed inside the cage. The cage was lifted above the ring, though not positioned directly in the center.

Following Rhea Ripley's strong performance at the beginning of the match, Liv Morgan targeted Rhea's leg with an attack.

Liv Morgan introduced a distinctive new move called the Homewrecker against Rhea Ripley, coming close to scoring a pinfall. It’s a clever name for a move, but it would have been better if she had used it as a secondary finisher. The Homewrecker is essentially a variation of the Made in Japan.

Dominik Mysterio managed to unlatch the door of the shark cage, but he still remained hanging in the air.

Rhodes And Reigns Triumph Over The Bloodline

Cody Rhodes was accompanied by the marching band from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, while Roman Reigns had a full orchestra, the Georgia Philharmonic, backing him up. On the other hand, in AEW, their top wrestling group draws inspiration from the film Romper Stomper, which features skinhead culture. This shows that pro wrestling truly offers something for everyone.

Jacob Fatu was one of the toughest competitors in the match, and he wasn’t eliminated until Cody Rhodes delivered a powerful splash that sent him crashing through a table. This effectively kept him safe from being pinned.

Jimmy Uso made his comeback, assisting Roman Reigns in his victory by pinning Solo Sikoa. Following the match, The Rock finally returned, as had been speculated for some time. This paves the way for what promises to be an exciting WarGames match at Survivor Series.
