Liverpool's Alexander-Arnold out for three weeks

Trent Alexander-Arnold

Lijnders, who is a coach at Liverpool, has expressed his disappointment over Alexander-Arnold's recent knee injury, describing it as "a blow" for the team. The young player is a vital part of Liverpool's defense, and his absence is sure to have an impact on the team's future performances. Lijnders has also expressed his confidence in the other players stepping up and filling the gap left by Alexander-Arnold's injury. Despite this setback, Liverpool remains determined to continue their journey towards success.

Assistant manager Pep Ljinders has revealed that Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold will be sidelined for approximately three weeks due to a knee injury.

Lijnders explained that Trent had hyperextended his knee, which resulted in a minor tear in the lateral ligament of his knee.

After having a scan, it was determined that he will be absent for around three weeks. This is a significant setback, and his presence will be sorely missed.

Lijnders stated that we need to discover fresh dynamics in the absence of him as he provided adaptability to our game. He was the person directing the balls to the crucial areas, even during rough patches. Therefore, we have to adapt without him and make the necessary changes to our tactics.

After taking some time to recharge, we hope that he can return to his previous form. This individual played a critical role in each game and consistently provided excellent opportunities for our team from the back.

At the moment, Liverpool is leading the Premier League by three points and they will be playing at home against Fulham in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-finals on Wednesday.

On January 21st, they are scheduled to confront Bournemouth in a Premier League match, followed by the second leg game against Fulham on January 24th.

On the weekend of the 27th of January, they will be playing against either Norwich or Bristol Rovers for the fourth round match of the FA Cup, and on January 31st, they are scheduled to host Chelsea in the league.

Alexander-Arnold, who was made vice-captain of the club in the previous summer, has managed to net two goals across 25 games across all competitions for Liverpool this season.

As a main defender on the right-hand side, he has achieved favorable outcomes occasionally while playing in midfield this season.

Mohamed Salah, a Liverpool striker, is currently representing Egypt in the Africa Cup of Nations, while Japan's Asia Cup squad includes midfielder Wataru Endo.

Lijnders mentioned that the left-backs, Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas, would resume their practice exercises towards the conclusion of the month. This is part of their recuperation plan from their shoulder injuries.

The midfielder named Dominik Szoboszlai cannot play due to a hamstring issue, but the captain called Virgil van Dijk has recovered from sickness and can compete against Fulham.

On our exclusive Liverpool club page, we inquired from our audience about their opinions on how Liverpool can manage without Alexander-Arnold. Here are a few of the answers we received:

James thinks that Jarell Quansah has the ability to play as a right-back, and Conor Bradley proved his worth as Bolton's player of the season during their match against Arsenal. James believes that the right-back position will not be a problem for their upcoming matches against Fulham (twice), Bournemouth, Norwich City/Bristol Rovers, and Chelsea. He hopes that Alexander-Arnold will return in time for their game against Arsenal.

Joel: Opponents are scared of Alexander-Arnold, so it's a shame that he won't be playing. However, I believe that when a good player leaves, someone else always steps up. Our entire team is capable of winning, so there's no need to worry. The quadruple will still be waiting for him when he comes back.

Upset: This is really disappointing and I think it's very likely we'll see another player get injured before all the current injured players recover. It might be a good idea to sell Joel Matip and Thiago Alcantara soon and use the funds to purchase a new right-back.

Patrick believes that Bradley has a great opportunity to shine, especially since Alexander-Arnold is injured and there are no upcoming matches against the top six teams. Patrick is excited to see if Bradley will take advantage of this chance.

Mo believes that Bradley needs to take on more responsibility in the team. With some added help from midfield, he could surpass everyone's expectations. Even during his brief appearance in the game against Arsenal, Bradley did a better job of guarding the flank than Alexander-Arnold. This is a chance for him to shine.
