Coldplay supporters have voiced their annoyance over the challenges they've faced in trying to get tickets for the band's newly scheduled concerts in the UK in 2025.

Earlier this month, the legendary British band announced that their world tour will feature performances in London and at Hull's Craven Park next summer, promoting their forthcoming tenth album, Moon Music.

On Thursday, September 26, a small batch of presale tickets was released on Ticketmaster for six concerts happening at Wembley Stadium in London next August. The general ticket sale will launch on Friday morning.

Fans who successfully got into the presale were sent an email outlining the ticket purchasing process and providing them with a code for early access.

One fan expressed their frustration on X, saying, “What’s the use of a pre-sale for the album if anyone can sign up for free and then you find yourself stuck at number 109443 in line? How is that fair?!?”

Chris Martin captured while on their summer 2024 tour.

"What's going on? I begin refreshing the resale link every second at 8:30 am to enter the waiting room and manage to get in as soon as I can," someone else mentioned. "Then, when I join the queue right at 9 am, there are already 140,000 people ahead of me?"

A third person commented, “Once again, Ticketmaster is a complete disaster. There are already scalpers selling tickets for five times the original price, and here I am stuck at position 122,000 in the queue. It’s ridiculous.”

Another fan expressed their frustration over ticket prices, saying, “I was 900 people back in line, and when I finally reached the front, the only ticket left was £192. This is ridiculous! Where did the £53 tickets go? @Ticketmaster is a scam.”

People quickly started sharing screenshots from the secondary ticket platform Viagogo, which showed a single ticket for one of the London shows priced at £1,327 just moments after the presale kicked off.

A disappointed fan shared a screenshot from the London concert on August 27, expressing, “As I wait in line for @coldplay tickets, Viagogo is already profiting from those in front of me... It's sickening @TicketmasterUK.”

A frustrated fan expressed, “I've been waiting in line since early this morning for the pre-sale tickets to the London show, and now I'm already seeing them listed for over £700 on Viagogo. It feels like we're out of luck.”

Coldplay fans are having a similar experience to those who tried to buy tickets for the Oasis reunion tour in 2025. For fans who couldn't get tickets during the original sale, many are finding them available on resale websites at much higher prices.

In light of the backlash concerning the ticket buying experience during the initial sale, the Manchester band arranged a special invite-only sale for their performances at Wembley Stadium in London on September 27 and 28. This decision was made to respond to the criticism surrounding dynamic pricing, which had been introduced because of an overwhelming level of demand.

Despite the ongoing sale, tickets continued to appear on the secondary marketplace Viagogo.

The Standard has reached out to Ticketmaster for a statement.
