The highly anticipated game, The First Descendant, has arrived and despite a few technical difficulties at the beginning, it has already gained a lot of popularity. It has quickly climbed the ranks to become one of the top 5 most played games on Steam today. As the first day comes to an end, players are taking some time to think about their experience and decide if they want to continue playing the game.

User dantecm posted on Reddit asking fellow players for their thoughts on the game as the first day comes to an end. In general, the feedback on The First Descendant seems to be mostly positive, with some players comparing it to Warframe and Destiny. User ZombieHellDog mentioned that they didn't love the game, but also didn't hate it. Their main complaint was that it felt like the core of the game was taken from Warframe, with drone escort missions that drain shields to move. They felt like it had a similar gameplay style to Outriders, but still preferred Warframe.

Many people are loving the game, like u/FitSeaweed1651 who expressed their enjoyment by saying “I’m really enjoying it, I like having this game alongside Destiny 2. The boss fights are cool and it gives me vibes of Dragon’s Dogma.” Another player, u/Bar_Har, is also enjoying the game on their Steam Deck, which is great news for handheld gamers. They mentioned, “I’ve only played about 30 minutes on my Steam Deck. I’m enjoying it so far. The main story quests are easy to find and complete. The shooting mechanics feel satisfying, although some enemies annoyingly dodge your sniper rifle shots. I feel good about choosing to start with Viessa, and not just because of the visuals.”

It looks like u/those_pixels is enjoying the change after getting bored of Helldivers 2. They mentioned that the game is reminiscent of Destiny and Warframe, but they don't mind it. They find the world, character animations, and overall look of the game to be impressive. So far, they have no complaints and believe this will be their new favorite game after playing Helldivers 2 to its limit.

Some people have not been having a good time with it. u/Exciting-Rise-1666 mentioned that they didn't have fun attacking enemies and felt that the abilities were disappointing and not quite right. They wished there was something special that made it unique.

In general, people have reacted well to the game. It will be interesting to see if it can keep players interested for a long time like Destiny and Warframe can. This will depend on future updates and the new content added to the game. If you haven't tried The First Descendant yet, you can play it for free on various platforms.
