Tesco recall Chocolate Bars

Tesco recalls own-brand chocolate bars due to undeclared nuts

Tesco has issued a recall of three types of its own-brand chocolate bars due to concerns they may contain undeclared nuts. The supermarket giant’s 200g bars of Tesco Finest Dark Chocolate with Almond and Hazelnut, Tesco Dark Chocolate and Ginger, and Tesco Dark Chocolate with Hazelnuts have been affected.

The products, which have a best-before date of July 2021, may pose a potential health risk to anyone with an allergy to nuts. The Food Standards Agency advises customers who have bought any of the bars not to eat them, but to return them to a Tesco store for a full refund. Tesco has apologised for any inconvenience caused and says it takes customer safety very seriously.

Tesco assures customers of their commitment to food safety

This is not the first recall Tesco has issued for its own-brand products. In recent years, a variety of foodstuffs including bacon, cheese, and burgers have been affected due to concerns about pathogens, undeclared ingredients, or contamination. Tesco says it’s committed to ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality, and works closely with suppliers and government agencies to achieve this.

The supermarket also claims it has strict processes in place to ensure products meet quality and safety standards before being placed on shelves. However, the latest recall highlights the importance of consumers checking packaging and ingredients before consuming any product, particularly if they have a known allergy or sensitivity to certain foods.
