Stella Creasy ‘not intimidated’ after attack on her London office

Stella Creasy

The Labour candidate Stella Creasy stated she refuses to be scared after someone broke windows and doors at her office in north-east London.

Creasy, who is running once more for her previous Walthamstow position, shared security camera images of a man wearing dark clothes who she claimed vandalized the office with a hammer and painted graffiti on it.

"If you recognize this person, please stand up for democracy and step forward," she posted on X.

In a different message, Creasy stated: "To whoever vandalized my office last night, I am not afraid of you and you have no place in politics."

Just like those spreading harmful and untrue flyers. Police are already investigating this and will seek the harshest punishments for this attack on democracy. I trust that the people of Walthamstow will not be intimidated or swayed by your violent actions.

She shared a picture of the front of the office that displayed multiple fractures in the glass door and one of the windows, appearing to be caused by a hammer.

The police in the city said the incident seemed to have occurred around 3.10am and 3.30am on Sunday, with a quick investigation currently happening. They asked for anyone who saw the incident to please speak up.

Detective Superintendent Dion Brown expressed his strong disapproval of the attack on the office of a potential London parliamentary candidate.

A representative from the Labour party stated: "We strongly oppose any attempts to intimidate candidates from any political party. It is crucial for our democracy that candidates for parliament are able to campaign without fear."

Creasy's constituency is one of the most secure for the Labour party, with a lead of over 30,000 votes in the previous election. The reason for the attack is unclear, but similar to other Labour members in city areas, Creasy has been under scrutiny for the party's position on Gaza.
