On July 2, the Slovenian company Triglav Group, a branch of insurance company Zavarovalnica Triglav, agreed to receive 11 million euros ($11.8 million) in reimbursement from the Slovenian government. This compensation is for the introduction of new regulations for supplemental health insurance premiums in 2023.

The group believes that agreeing to the deal is what is best for everyone involved, so they have decided to accept the offer that was made following the government's instructions, as stated in their submission to the Ljubljana Stock Exchange on Monday.

Triglav Group requested reimbursement from the health ministry for the expenses it paid to healthcare providers compared to the insurance income from supplemental healthcare insurance from June to December 2023.

In April 2023, the Slovenian government approved a rule that sets the highest cost for extra health insurance. This rule will be in place until changes are made to the Healthcare and Health Insurance Act.

In 2022, 15% of Triglav's overall written premium came from health insurance. However, in recent years, health insurance has only made a small and negative contribution to the group's overall profit.
