Inter defender Matteo Darmian: "Nothing decided yet in Serie A title race"

Serie A

Matteo Darmian, a defender for Inter Milan, is exercising prudence in the battle for the league title in Serie A. Despite the increasing lead of the Nerazzurri, he is remaining vigilant.

After Inter Milan's victorious Serie A game against Atalanta, the 34-year-old player gave an interview to the Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, according to FCInterNews.

Inter currently enjoys a sizable lead in the Serie A standings. It is the most comfortable margin they have had throughout the season.

The Nerazzurri currently have a lead of twelve points over Juventus and have twelve matches remaining.

This happens about a month after both teams were extremely close in the competition for the title.

It appears that Inter's victory against the Bianconeri at the beginning of this month was the defining moment.

Since that game, the Nerazzurri have been unbeatable. They've managed to triumph in every league match since then, scoring a quadruple of goals in each match.

In the meantime, Juventus has experienced a setback.

The Bianconeri emerged victorious in their latest game, thanks to a last-minute goal scored by Daniele Rugani. It was an exciting match that ended with a 3-2 scoreline in favor of Juve against Frosinone.

However, Juventus has also failed to secure victories in some matches. For instance, they drew against Empoli and Hellas Verona, and suffered a defeat to Udinese.

Yet, defender Darmian is not rejoicing anything at the moment.

The season's run-in is yet to be played, so potential pitfalls still exist.

Inter are acutely aware of the risks associated with losing form during crucial stages of the season. A couple of years ago, they relinquished the title to their cross-town rivals, AC Milan, after frittering away their lead.

After the game with Atalanta, Darmian expressed his understanding of the good standard of their team.

"However, we are aware that it is necessary to continue in the same way."

"We need to continue putting in the same effort. We understand that no conclusions have been reached as of yet."

Regarding his first goal against La Dea, Darmian expressed his happiness by saying, "I'm pleased the goal came to me."

"I'm happy that we were able to break the tie against a resilient and skilled team like Atalanta, securing a valuable victory for the team."
