Which Reds are in the Euro 2024 semi-finals?

Semi-finals Euro 2024

July 7th, 2024, Sunday, at 11:11 am

Two footballers from Manchester United will play in the semi-finals of Euro 2024.

England narrowly defeated Switzerland in a thrilling quarter-final match on Saturday, advancing to the next round on penalties. As a result, Kobbie Mainoo, Luke Shaw, and Tom Heaton are the only remaining players from England still competing in the tournament.

They will have a challenging match against the Netherlands on Wednesday, which is the second semi-final in Germany.

This week is going to be very important for the four teams still in the running at Euro 2024. We can expect more excitement and intense matches before the tournament ends in Berlin on Sunday, July 14th.

Spain will face off against France on Tuesday, July 9th at 8:00 PM (BST).

In the final moments of extra time, Mikel Merino scored a crucial header that led Spain to knock out Germany from Euro 2024. Luis de la Fuente's squad is now the first to advance to the semi-finals.

Later that night, France beat the 2016 European champions Portugal in a penalty shootout. Portugal's team included United's Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot.

The opening semi-final match will be held at Bayern Munich's Allianz Arena on Tuesday evening at 8:00 BST. UK viewers can watch the game live on BBC One.

England will be facing off against the Netherlands on Wednesday 10 July at 8:00 PM British Summer Time.

England needed penalties to advance to the semifinals in Germany, as Breel Embolo scored first for Switzerland but Bukayo Saka equalized for Arsenal.

Shaw, a United player, came back from his injury in the game, while Mainoo began - and once again showed his skills - in the center of the Three Lions midfield.

England successfully converted all five of their penalty kicks and goalkeeper Jordan Pickford made a crucial save on Manuel Akanji from Manchester City, securing their spot in the semi-finals.

The Netherlands made a comeback against Turkey, winning 2-1 and securing a spot in the semi-finals of a European Championship for the first time in over two decades. Unfortunately, Turkey's goalkeeper Altay Bayindir was knocked out of the tournament.

Ex-player Wout Weghorst made a big difference for his team when he came off the bench, along with Stephan De Vrijj and a Turkey own-goal. Their performances set up an exciting match against Gareth Southgate's team.

This semi-final match will start at 8:00 PM British Summer Time and will take place at Borussia Dortmund's Signal Iduna Park. It will be broadcast live on ITV 1 in the United Kingdom. We will also provide ongoing updates through the Manchester United App and on ManUtd.com.

Best wishes to our team of three English players.
