FA expect Saka to report for England duty despite Arteta injury claim

Saka

Saka's impressive record of playing in 87 successive Premier League games came to a halt. He was not present in the lineup for Arsenal's important 1-0 win against the champions due to a minor hamstring injury he sustained during their Champions League loss in Lens last week.

On Monday morning, discussions were ongoing between Arsenal and England regarding Saka; however, the FA anticipated that he would follow through with his scheduled visit to St George's Park. At this location, medical professionals would evaluate him.

Being an essential part of Gareth Southgate's team, Saka might still be present in the team's gathering for the next two weeks. During this period, the manager will engage in pivotal discussions, regardless of Saka's availability for the Australia-friendly on Friday and the European Championship qualifying match against Italy.

When asked about Saka's potential involvement with the national team after the City game, Arteta stated that it wouldn't be possible.

He hasn't participated in any training sessions, thus he won't be able to play. He is presently not an option for football.

Bukayo Saka was not part of the action when Arsenal won against Manchester City at the Emirates, meaning he was sidelined during the game.

Saka, who is aged 22, has had a difficult time this season due to a number of injuries. He was unable to complete two of Arsenal's previous League games against Tottenham and Bournemouth before the City game.

The team wants their attacker to take a break during the international period to avoid worsening his hamstring injury. Nevertheless, he is likely to be in good condition when Arsenal faces Chelsea on October 21.

Arsenal is currently in discussions with Belgium about Leandro Trossard. The forward's hamstring got injured during the first half of a match against City. Ultimately, Gabriel Martinelli replaced Trossard at halftime and became the winning player.

On Sunday evening, William Saliba pulled out from the French team due to a toe injury. This occurred after he played a significant part in the match against City.
