Ryan Reynolds responded in a comical way to the prohibition on actors who go on strike dressing up like Barbie during Halloween.

SAG-AFTRA set forth stringent instructions for the festive season that forbids actors who are on strike from portraying well-known characters from their struck productions for Halloween and uploading images on social networks.

During this creepy season, popular choices for costumes include Barbie, Marvel superheroes, and Wednesday Addams. These are characters that are anticipated to be most loved.

Rather than that, the guild advised its members to select outfits based on generalized characters and figures, such as ghosts, zombies, and spiders. Alternatively, they could opt to dress up as characters from television shows that are not under strike.

The guild suggested that we should join forces and make a strong statement to our employers who have been negatively impacted by the strike. We must not share their content unless a reasonable contract is in place.

Hollywood celebrity Reynolds made a satirical post on X (previously known as Twitter) ridiculing the latest regulations.

In reply to a Variety article about the guidance, he commented that he can't wait to shout out "scab" at his 8-year-old for the entire night. Even though she's not part of the union, it's essential for her to understand.

The instructions arrive amidst a widespread protest by performers due to a disagreement concerning their wages, job stability, and authority regarding the usage of AI (Artificial Intelligence).

The strike is almost reaching 100 days since discussions with Hollywood studios ended on Saturday without reaching an agreement.

The SAG-AFTRA organization declared that talks with movie and TV production companies have been put on hold because the companies presented an agreement "that has a lower value than what was previously suggested when the strike wasn't occurring."

The strike by actors has continued since July 19th. This was a significant decision by SAG-AFTRA to support the Writers Guild of America (WGA) members who were seeking a more just agreement.

Recently, the WGA union settled with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP), culminating the writers' strike that had been ongoing for a total of 146 days.

Actors who are currently on strike have received a ban on dressing up as Barbie during Halloween festivities.

Writers coming back to work has sparked Hollywood's production hustle once more, but due to the actors' strike that's still ongoing, many TV shows and films, such as Wicked, Deadpool 3, and Mission Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part 2, have been put on hold or delayed.

The Emmys, which announced their nominations on the same day that actors went on strike, have decided to postpone their ceremony from September to January in hopes that the strike will be resolved by then. However, there is still a possibility that the new date could also be affected by the strike.

The Academy Awards ceremony won't happen until March, but the efforts to secure a win have already started.

Unless they have the approval of the union, most actors are forbidden from advertising their movies at press events or on fancy carpets, with a few unique instances of non-studio work.

Director Martin Scorsese has been busy discussing his new Oscar hopeful movie, Killers of the Flower Moon, but Leonardo DiCaprio, a member of the SAG-AFTRA, has not given any interviews yet.
