In February of this year, Ryan, who is famous for playing the lead role in the movie Deadpool, alongside his friend and fellow actor Rob McElhenney, became the co-chairman of Wrexham AFC.
After that, the Reds embarked on an amazing adventure and put an end to their 15-year long distress by becoming the champions of the National League, thereby regaining their place in the English Football League, in the previous season.
The Welcome to Wrexham documentary has gained global attention as it highlights the impact of a particular story on the community of Wrexham.
On the upcoming Monday (October 23), Ryan will be celebrating his 47th birthday. To express gratitude for his admirable contributions towards all things Wrexham, a unique birthday card has been arranged for him.
Moreover, the card that can be personalized in this location was an ingenious idea of James Grundy, a resident of Reading.
When I spoke with the Leader, he shared with me that even though he’s not originally from this region, he was drawn to Wrexham's tale. He was amazed by how one person's influence, belief, and compassion could make a significant impact on a whole community.
As a fan who mostly watches from afar, I have thoroughly enjoyed keeping track of the team's journey. I believe that a lot of football enthusiasts, counting myself, take pleasure in a compelling narrative, such as this one. Rob and Ryan have done an outstanding job with their investment, and not just for Wrexham but also for the entire National League. As a result, many fans, including myself, are extremely thankful for their contributions.
James said, "I aimed to commemorate the most delightful and optimistic tale in soccer whilst the world appears quite gloomy. Additionally, it's a means to express gratitude to Ryan and Rob since it's impossible for me to contact them in person."
Rob and Ryan's enthusiasm for the club and the town is incredibly contagious. Without a doubt, I have caught their passion for the place. This card that we have created is a fantastic way to express gratitude and give back some of the happiness that Ryan has brought into our lives. In these challenging times, everyone deserves a little bit of joy!
James expressed his desire for Ryan to personally witness the card and plans to hand-deliver it to Wrexham AFC on Ryan's special day.
He said: "I went around the Wrexham region with the card and people have been responding positively. There was a bar that even offered to help deliver it to Ryan if I can't personally. Apparently, he frequents the place and may see it there."
I am optimistic that the team at kindeo.com could support me with this, as I have had experience interning for them, and I believe they would be impressed by what I am doing. Additionally, I plan on sharing this with the club on the day of the event. Regardless of the outcome, if this gains more traction, there is a greater chance of him noticing and hopefully responding to everyone who was involved.
I just want to express my admiration for Ryan (and Rob) in case they come across this post. They are a source of motivation for me and many of my acquaintances. Therefore, we want to extend our gratitude to them through this modest gesture.
