Ryan Gosling is currently filming his new movie, Project Hail Mary, in Southsea.
Hollywood star Ryan Gosling was recently seen shooting his next movie at a seaside resort in England.
The actor from Barbie and La La Land was spotted with a movie crew at South Parade Pier in Southsea, Portsmouth.
Gosling is collaborating with directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, known for their work on 21 Jump Street and The Lego Movie, on the film Project Hail Mary.
Images from the film set feature Gosling dressed in a yellow raincoat and wearing glasses, portraying the lead character Ryland Grace.
Gosling (highlighted in red) was spotted alongside a film crew at South Parade Pier.
Gosling was spotted greeting fans with a wave as he departed from the pier following his filming on Sunday.
Project Hail Mary is inspired by the novel written by Andy Weir, the same author behind The Martian, which was eventually turned into a movie directed by Ridley Scott featuring Matt Damon.
The movie will showcase Sandra Hüller, who has recently appeared in the Academy Award-winning films The Zone of Interest and Anatomy of a Fall.
Ryan Gosling's latest films feature The Fall Guy and Barbie, the latter of which inspired a standout rendition of the song "I'm Just Ken" at the Academy Awards.
Project Hail Mary isn't the first film to be shot at the pier.
In 1974, there was a fire that damaged it while filming the Ken Russell musical Tommy, leading to a reconstruction of some parts of the superstructure.
The Grade-II listed pier, which originally opened its doors in 1879, was closed down in 2012 after the Portsmouth City Council issued a dangerous structure notice to its former proprietors.
South Parade Pier Ltd acquired the building in 2014 for an unspecified amount and managed its celebrated restoration.
