Eva Mendes was not physically present at the Oscars event in 2024, however, she let it be known that she was observing the show from the comfort of her own home.

On Sunday, March 10th, the actress who is 50 years old posted a message on Instagram to show her appreciation for her husband Ryan Gosling. He was nominated for an Oscar for his role as Ken in Greta Gerwig’s movie Barbie. He was also nominated for his performance of the hit song "I'm Just Ken" from the movie. He performed the song during the awards ceremony.

Mendes shared a picture on her social media account where it appeared that she was taking a pose in Gosling's changing room. In the photo, she was wearing a pink blazer and a black cowboy hat. Along with the snap, she wrote a message that stated that he had taken Ken to the Oscars, and now he needs to come back home because they have to put the kids to sleep.

Mendes and Gosling became acquainted on the set of The Place Beyond the Pines in 2012. They have two daughters named Esmeralda and Amada, who are nine and seven years old, respectively.

Instead of having Mendes accompany him to the awards ceremony, Gosling decided to bring his family along to the 2024 Oscars event at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. The actor proudly posed for photos on the red carpet, flanked by his mother Donna Gosling, sister Mandi Gosling and stepfather Valerio Attanasio. During the 2017 awards ceremony, Mandi was his date for the same event when he was recognized for Best Actor in the hit movie, La La Land.

Gosling wore a fancy Gucci suit in black that included a blazer, pants, and a shirt with an open collar. The shirt had some golden touches that made it sparkle. To complete the outfit, he added black shiny shoes, delicate necklaces in gold, and a playful touch with Barbie-inspired pink socks.

Mendes has been promoting her husband's portrayal of Barbie on social media. In the previous summer, she uploaded an image on Instagram where she was seen donning a shirt that sported Gosling's face as Ken. The caption underneath the picture read: "I've got all that power and energy, like a true player girl does."

When the photo was posted, numerous admirers left comments inquiring whether Mendes and their partner would be gracing the red carpet jointly. This was the duo's first red carpet appearance since 2012. Mendes responded by expressing gratitude, but clarifying that they do not participate in such events as a pair.

During a recent onstage performance, Ryan Gosling delivered a humorous rendition of the song "I'm Just Ken", which received positive reactions from both the live audience and those watching from home. The song was penned by popular songwriters Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt. Gosling shared in a previous interview with Variety that he was initially thrilled to tap into his inner theatre enthusiast before being informed that he would be taking on the musical number.

America Ferrera who co-starred with him in the movie Barbie also got a nomination for Best Supporting Actress by showcasing her talented skills in portraying Gloria. Although his co-star Margot Robbie and the director Gerwig did not receive nominations at the awards function, the words spoken by the star of La La Land caught the attention of the public.

According to Gosling, the Barbie movie would not exist without Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie. He believes these two individuals are the primary contributors to this highly acclaimed movie that has made history around the world.

Without the talent, determination, and brilliance of everyone involved in the film, we wouldn't have received any recognition. It’s safe to say that I am incredibly disappointed that they were not nominated for their outstanding work in their specific fields.
