Ex-Welsh secretary Robert Buckland 'fed up' with 'cheap populism'

Former Welsh Secretary Sir Robert Buckland expressed his frustration with the Conservative party's strategy.

He was the first Conservative to be defeated in the election on election night, as the initial results started to be reported from all over the country.

The Member of Parliament from Llanelli, who has been serving Swindon South since 2010, stated that the national service proposal was greatly exaggerated and a wrong decision.

He expressed that the era of relying on cheap populism is over, if it even existed in the first place.
