Today was a very emotional day in West Yorkshire as many people gathered along the streets to bid a final goodbye to one of the most cherished individuals from the region.

Rob Burrow initially gained the admiration and affection of the locals when he emerged as a dynamic and tenacious rugby league player.

After that, he won over the affection of many people outside of the game through his highly publicized struggle with MND.

This past Sunday, known as Rob Burrow Day, the family and friends of Rob Burrow gathered to attend a private cremation ceremony. The special day was chosen as it coincides with the seventh day of the seventh month, paying tribute to Rob's playing number.

The funeral procession traveled through Castleford, then Featherstone where he started playing as a young player, before eventually reaching his hometown of Pontefract.

The vehicle carrying Rob's casket had flowers arranged to spell "Bro" and "Son" on one side, and "Dad" on the other.

A note that the man who was admired by many for his skills on the field, and later for his actions off the field, was also a beloved member of his family.

A lot of people on the path were wearing rugby jerseys with his name and number on them.
