Bez, the star from Happy Mondays, stirred up a bit of trouble at the MTV Europe Music Awards on Sunday with a funny encounter involving host Rita Ora.

The ceremony, held at Manchester's Co-Op Arena, featured notable stars such as Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter, and Raye, who took home the evening's top honors.

The 60-year-old dancer and percussionist, known for his lively party spirit, was joined by his bandmate Shaun Ryder for what seemed like a quick chat with Ora, who welcomed them by calling them “Manchester royalty.”

Things quickly went downhill for the segment when Bez decided to take control and speak to the entire audience, clinging tightly to the microphone.

"Rita, I just have to say how wonderful you are. You really know how to make everyone feel at home; you're truly one-of-a-kind," Bez exclaimed, causing Ora to burst into laughter. "Let's hear it for Rita Ora, everyone!" he added with excitement.

In an effort to regain control of the show, Ora took the microphone from Bez and announced the K-Pop girl group Le Sserafim, while Bez looked on with excitement in the background.

The moment didn’t escape attention, and many viewers wasted no time in sharing their funny reactions to the surprising interaction.

"Having Bez right next to Rita while she discusses Le Sserafim is just incredible," commented someone.

Another viewer commented, “Bez is stirring up chaos at the MTVEMAs.”

"Seeing Rita Ora attempt to manage Bez really took me by surprise!" remarked a third person.

"Recently, Shaun Ryder and Bez made an appearance, and it’s been the best part of the show because Bez is obviously in a wild state. It’s absolutely funny," noted another viewer discreetly.

One viewer mentioned that it might have been a little confusing for international audiences who aren't acquainted with The Happy Mondays' behavior: “Bez and Shaun Ryder from The Happy Mondays were causing a scene on TV, attempting to snatch the microphone from Rita Ora. It was entertaining, but it made me wonder how people from other countries who don’t know them might have perceived it, especially if they weren't anticipating such antics, haha.”

During the show, Ora gave a heartfelt tribute to her deceased friend Liam Payne, with whom she worked on the song "For You" from the Fifty Shades Freed soundtrack.

She expressed, "I would like to pause for a moment to honor someone who was extremely special to us."

"We recently lost him, and he played a significant role in both the MTV community and my life."

"Liam Payne was among the nicest individuals I ever met."

Ora remarked, "He was incredibly kind and always the first to lend a hand whenever he could."

“He spread happiness wherever he went and made a lasting impact on the world.”

A picture of the artist was displayed on the screens throughout the arena.
