3 PM on Saturday, November 23, 2024.

Jim Goodwin implemented two changes after we resumed play following the international hiatus.

Glenn Middleton came back into the starting eleven, taking Jort van der Sande's place, and Kai Fotheringham made his first start of the season in the Premiership, stepping in for Emmanuel Adegboyega.

Louis Moult returned to the bench for the first time since late September, having been sidelined due to injury.

Our matchday roster included four graduates from the DUFC Academy.

The Terrors took their time in starting the game, gradually gaining steam after facing some initial pressure from the Rangers.

Just six minutes into the match, Vaclav Cerny made the first attempt at goal with a low shot from 20 yards out, but Jack Walton handled it easily in his initial test of the day.

Our left side seemed the most likely to create problems for the home team. A sharp cross from Glenn Middleton narrowly missed its intended recipients, and moments later, David Babunski sent a shot sailing over the bar after another swift counterattack from the team in white and orange.

Nedim Bajrami nearly scored with a curling shot just before the 30-minute mark, but Walton made an outstanding one-handed save to keep the score tied.

The Most Attractive Guy Around

Sam Dalby scored his fifth goal in just six matches, thrilling the traveling fans with his strike less than ten minutes before halftime.

The play began with a fast freekick, which was sent to the left and then passed back for Vicko Ševelj. He delivered a delicate cross into the penalty area. Our striker, who found space with smart positioning, glanced the ball past Jack Butland, putting us in the lead.

Just before halftime, there was a tense moment when Robin Propper scored, but the goal was canceled almost immediately due to a clear handball by Connor Barron during the play leading up to it.

Dalby was in the right place at the right time, slipping past the defense before setting up Fotheringham. Unfortunately, Fotheringham's shot was stopped by the closest defender. The ball bounced into the path of Babunski, but he sent his attempt sailing over the crossbar, leaving Butland untroubled. We went into halftime with a one-goal lead.

Cerny, who posed a constant threat throughout the match, responded with a precise shot into the net after the hour mark.

It was a typical play when the Rangers winger completed a quick exchange of passes before slipping past the United defense and curling the ball low into the far corner of the net.

Walton made an impressive save to prevent Danilo, who came on in the second half, from scoring. Shortly after, Cerny managed to chip the ball into the net again, but the goal was disallowed due to an obvious offside call.

In the 86th minute, the Rangers came very close to scoring when Walton deflected a powerful shot from Ianis Hagi. Danilo attempted to score on the rebound, but his shot was blocked. Walton then made another impressive save at close range to keep Propper from scoring on the second chance.

During stoppage time, Walton made another fantastic save to deny Igamane, allowing us to secure an additional point on the road.
