Swiatek was unstoppable, winning 21 matches in a row and seemed to be heading for an easy win in the last 16 at the All England Club after taking the first set. However, the player from Kazakhstan fought back fiercely in the second set, breaking Swiatek's serve twice.

The four-time French Open champion Swiatek quickly left the court before the final set, and when she finally came back, she was met with disapproving sounds from the restless audience.

It appeared to throw the top seed off her game and she hit the ball into the net, allowing the 30th seed Putintseva to claim a remarkable 3-6 6-1 6-2 win on her third chance to close out the match.

Swiatek mentioned feeling completely drained after her victory at the French Open, and it seemed to have affected her performance at Wimbledon as she was eliminated in the third round while holding the top ranking.

Yulia Putintseva, who hails from Moscow, enjoyed the praise from the crowd before expressing in her post-match interview, "It's a fantastic feeling, it truly is fantastic."

I was very concentrated on playing quickly and not giving her any opportunities. That's about all there is to say.

I was in the zone on the basketball court, feeling hot and on fire. I was focused on entertaining you all with my impressive shots.

"I just want to relax and savor this moment, take a breather, stretch a bit, and grab a bite to eat. It's essential!"
