Leicester 1-2 Chelsea: Blues hold on after late Foxes penalty — LIVE!
Nicolas Jackson and Enzo Fernandez scored to lead Chelsea to a 2-1 victory over Leicester City in the Premier League on Saturday. The win could have been even easier had Chelsea winger Noni Madueke not inadvertently stopped a shot on goal from his teammate Cole Palmer.
In the 15th minute, Jackson capitalized on Leicester's failure to clear the ball, skillfully controlling it before gently nudging it past the Foxes' goalkeeper, Mads Hermansen, using the outside of his right foot. Chelsea controlled the match, putting Leicester under pressure.
Chelsea nearly increased their lead in the 54th minute when Madueke got in the way of Palmer’s shot at an open goal, deflecting the ball wide. Thankfully for Chelsea, captain Fernandez saved the day by scoring with a header in the 75th minute. Although Jordan Ayew managed to score a penalty for Leicester in stoppage time, it was too late to change the outcome, and Chelsea secured the victory, bringing their points total to 22 and solidifying their position in third place.
