Parkrun fan keen to run all south west courses

Adam 'Tango' Holland has completed every Parkrun route in Devon and Cornwall.

A runner aims to participate in every Parkrun event across the South West after already finishing all the courses in Devon and Cornwall.

Adam Holland has participated in 296 events at 83 different locations, including a unique run in Bushy Park, located in south-west London, on Saturday to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Parkrun.

Started on October 2, 2004, Parkruns are organized by volunteers to offer individuals the opportunity to participate in 5km (3.1-mile) runs across the UK.

Mr. Holland, a passionate runner from Okehampton in west Devon, is gearing up for his 555th marathon this Sunday. He expressed his enjoyment of Parkruns, highlighting their accessibility for everyone.

Mr. Holland, also known as Tango on social media, mentioned that he has completed all the Parkruns in Devon and Cornwall. He particularly enjoys the events held at the Eden Project and Haldon Forest.

Mr. Holland mentioned that he is now aiming to finish all the Parkruns located in various areas of the South West.

"I'm working on heading the opposite way because there are 81 in the southwest overall, and I've completed 43 of them," he explained.

Adam Holland aims to participate in every Parkrun event across the south-west region.

During the inaugural Parkrun, which was originally called the Bushy Park Time Trial, 13 individuals showed up to take on the challenge of the course.

Over the past two decades, Parkrun has expanded to include 1,287 events across 23 nations, attracting nearly 10 million people who have signed up.

Mr. Holland mentioned that the opportunity to explore various locations and connect with new individuals, along with the advantage of free runs, has played a significant role in its success.

He mentioned, "They have done an incredible job over the last two decades to maintain this initiative and help it grow larger each year."
