The NBA hired an actor who appeared in "The Sopranos" and used the plot of the movie "Ocean's Eleven" - a robbery that takes place in Las Vegas - to create buzz about their brand-new tournament that starts on November 3rd.

A new marketing strategy was just unveiled on Wednesday. It is a video advertisement that runs for almost two minutes. Actor Michael Imperioli provides the narration. He tells the story of seven basketball players - Anthony Davis, Trae Young, DeMar DeRozan, Julius Randle, Kawhi Leonard, Darius Garland, and Draymond Green - who are seen in a casino planning to steal the NBA Cup.

On December 9th, the champion of the tournament finale in Las Vegas will receive that impressive trophy. The NBA stated that this tournament will diverge from the typical early-season basketball events, as the floors and uniforms used will be unique.

On Wednesday, NBA commissioner Adam Silver announced that they have introduced an extensive and interesting initiative to advertise the latest tournament. He expressed his desire that these activities will ignite the passion of the fans just as much as they have amongst themselves.

For a long time, Silver suggested a competition that resembled ones seen in football. However, don't read ahead if you want to be surprised: Imperioli, the brains behind the robbery plot, manages to obtain the trophy somehow.

Imperioli remarked as the advertisement came to a conclusion, "It appears that everyone will need to compete for it."
