According to sportsbooks across the country, the leading contenders for the NBA championship in the upcoming season are the Boston Celtics and the Milwaukee Bucks.

According to various sportsbooks, both the Celtics and Bucks are favored to win. However, Caesars Sportsbook places Boston ahead with slightly better odds of +380 compared to Milwaukee at +400. The current champions, Denver Nuggets, come in at +420. Meanwhile, the Phoenix Suns (+600) and Golden State Warriors (+850) are also viewed as strong contenders with single-digit odds at the start of the season at Caesars Sportsbook.

The Celtics and Bucks are both prime candidates to take the NBA Cup, the first-ever competition held during the season, after strengthening their backcourts during the off-season. Boston brought in experienced guard Jrue Holiday, while Milwaukee acquired the talented Damian Lillard to team up with Giannis Antetokounmpo.

During the offseason, many individuals placed their bets on the Nuggets to become champions, with the team receiving the highest number of wagers and the largest sums of money at Caesars Sportsbook. A resident of Nevada placed a bet worth $30,000 on Denver at odds of 4-1, and if successful, the bettor would receive a net total of $120,000.

Bettors at sportsbooks such as FanDuel and the SuperBook have shown the most support for the Los Angeles Lakers who hold an impressive 11-1 odds of winning the title. The LA Clippers have captured attention with their 18-1 odds, while the Miami Heat trails behind with their 22-1 odds.

According to Caesars Sportsbook, the Detroit Pistons, Charlotte Hornets, Washington Wizards, and Portland Trail Blazers are considered to be the teams with the lowest chances of winning, as they have been given odds of 500-1.

According to betting odds, the top candidate to be named regular-season MVP is the talented basketball player Nikola Jokic from the Nuggets, with a 3-1 chance of winning. Next in line are Giannis Antetokounmpo with 6-1 odds and Luka Doncic from the Dallas Mavericks with 11-2 odds.

In simple terms, Victor Wembanyama, who was selected by the San Antonio Spurs as the first pick in the draft, is projected as the favorite to win Rookie of the Year with odds of -150. Interestingly, he is the first player since Kevin Durant during the 2007-08 season to hold such high chances of winning, according to SportsOddsHistory.com.

The beginning of the season is on Tuesday, where the Nuggets will have the Lakers over to their court and the Warriors will have the Suns over to theirs.

As of October 24, let's take a look at the chances of winning the NBA championship, according to Caesars Sportsbook.
