A sci-fi horror movie featuring Megan Fox is garnering praise from Netflix audiences since its addition to the platform, even though critics had a negative reaction when it first came out.
"Subservience" debuted on Netflix on December 5, following its theatrical release in September. The film features Fox as an android named Alice, who becomes self-aware and develops a hostile attitude towards the family she is meant to serve.
The movie, directed by SK Dale, features Michele Morrone, Madeline Zima, Matilda Firth, Jude Allen Greenstein, and Andrew Whipp in key roles. The original script is written by Will Honley and April Maguire. This film also marks Fox's first appearance since his role in Expend4bles in 2023.
When the film came out in September, it didn't receive much praise from critics, who have given it a 48 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Moviegoers also seemed underwhelmed, awarding it a mere 56 percent approval.
Nonetheless, it seems to have gained a following on Netflix, with audiences expressing admiration for Fox's performance after watching the film.
A fan expressed on X/Twitter, “When this movie was released, many mocked Megan Fox, claiming she finally had a part that allowed her to reveal her true self. In reality, she was the best aspect of the film, and it suited her well. This feels like M3GAN, but targeted at an adult audience.”
Another viewer commented, “I just wrapped up watching Subservience, and I have to say, it’s not a bad film! I really feel like this could be a glimpse into our future.”
"Another viewer commented, 'This film, Subservience, on Netflix is really amazing.'"

"Focus on acquiring a skill or pursuing a hobby," she advised. "And don't spend your time and energy on guys."
