Megan Fox has replied to claims of being "xenophobic" when she spoke out about the massive commotion that surrounded a snap of her at the Super Bowl.

The star of the Transformers franchise made a comparison of her appearance in a recent Instagram post to that of a "Ukrainian inflatable doll" and an "exclusive Japanese sex doll worth a lot of money."

Certain supporters referred to the statements as "xenophobic", resulting in the performer having to respond to the allegations on the social networking site.

Oh my goodness! That's not what I intended to say. I think Ukrainian women are attractive and so, in my mind, even blowup dolls would be. It was just a lighthearted joke, can't I have a laugh?

Fox mentioned a photograph of herself and Machine Gun Kelly with Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, taken in a club with low lighting.

The picture spread rapidly on the internet and various supporters speculated that Fox, who is 37 years old, seemed noticeably altered and might have received significant cosmetic surgery.

The performer from Jennifer's Body answered the negative comments on Instagram and stated that the picture was a "blurry smartphone snap of me resembling an inflatable doll from Ukraine".

She went on to say: "In ACTUALITY, I resemble one of those high-priced authentic sex dolls that are exclusively available in Japan."

According to supporters, Fox appeared 'totally transformed' in recently posted pictures.

Afterwards, she posted a couple of pictures from the same evening but with distinct illumination to ease concerns that the obscure hues had caused her facial characteristics to look more prominent.

"Oh wow, you guys, notice how little I've actually changed," she exclaimed.

Fans criticized Fox's remarks about Ukraine and Japan, calling them inappropriate. One person wrote on X/Twitter that they found Fox's comments to be disrespectful and discriminatory. Specifically, they claimed that she made a xenophobic remark and failed to acknowledge the difficult situation that Ukrainian women are facing due to the ongoing conflict in their country.

Renowned influencer from Russia, Polina Pushkareva, left a comment on the image, stating that discriminatory attitudes towards people from Eastern Europe are still evident in Hollywood.

"Wow, that's an unusual thing to publish," remarked someone else.

The Independent has reached out to Fox's representatives to request their input.

Last year, the performer talked to Sports Illustrated about her struggle with body dysmorphia.

She shared that she suffers from body dysmorphia, which means that she does not see herself the same way others do. She has never been able to appreciate her own body and has always struggled with it.

In the past, Megan Fox shared that she had faced challenges with body dysmorphia.

The Mayo Clinic describes body dysmorphic disorder as a mental illness that causes an individual to constantly obsess about one or several perceived defects or imperfections in their physical appearance.

In October 2021, Fox shared in an interview with British GQ Style that she struggles with body dysmorphia. Additionally, she mentioned that although her appearance intrigues men, they've made inaccurate assumptions about her looks.

It's common to assume that good-looking people have it easy in life, but that's not always the case. This statement was made by someone who has personal experience with this issue. They expressed that they struggle with an excessive preoccupation with their appearance, known as body dysmorphia. This condition has caused them to have many insecurities about themselves.
