Don’t Watch Megan Fox’s ‘Subservience’ On Netflix, Watch These Megan Fox Horror Movies Instead
Netflix has just introduced a brand new top movie on its platform, and it's a licensed film rather than an original production. The title of this film is "Subservience," featuring Megan Fox in the role of a supportive android designed to help a father cope with the loss of his wife.
This film is simply not worth your time. It has terrible ratings from both critics and viewers, and I checked it out a while ago when it was available for rental. I really can't suggest you watch it. I had hoped it might offer a unique take on the idea, such as the android from Fox escaping an abusive father figure, but unfortunately, it turned out to be completely predictable. Fox becomes overly involved in her mission to protect the daughter, which drives her to madness and violence. In essence, it's a lesser version of M3GAN, with the added element of Megan Fox appearing in her underwear at times.
However, Megan Fox is an incredibly skilled actress in the horror genre, and I have two particular films featuring her that I highly suggest you check out instead.
Many of you are likely familiar with the film I'm about to mention, Jennifer's Body, which dates back to 2009 when Megan Fox had just made a splash in Transformers. The movie was ahead of its time, featuring Fox as a demonically possessed "it girl" who charms and feasts on mostly men. Fox delivers a remarkable performance, and the movie features an impressive cast that includes Amanda Seyfried, Adam Brody, Kyle Gallner, Chris Pratt, JK Simmons, and Amy Sedaris. Despite its potential to be a blockbuster, Jennifer's Body only grossed $31 million worldwide. It's a disappointment, but today it stands as a beloved classic in the horror genre.
Another Megan Fox horror film worth mentioning is a more recent and often underrated selection: Till Death. In this film, Fox's character is handcuffed to her deceased husband as an act of vengeance, forcing her to fend off intruders who are intent on harming her in her own home. Throughout much of the movie, she struggles with the weight of the body, which creates a unique and compelling scenario that she handles effectively. While it's not on the same level as Jennifer's Body, it's still an entertaining watch and much more enjoyable than Subservience.
I honestly believe that Megan Fox doesn't receive the recognition she deserves. When she has the right roles, she excels. Beyond the horror genre, she also impressed me with her performance while stepping in for Jess on New Girl for a period. Being submissive won't benefit her, but those two other films will.
