Matija Sarkic passes away aged 26

Shrewsbury Town is deeply saddened to hear that our former goalie Matija Sarkic has died at the young age of 26.

In 2020, Matija joined Salop on a loan agreement from Wolves. He quickly gained a lot of popularity among fans for his performance on the field and his personality off the field.

The skilled goalie appeared in 26 matches for the team throughout his career, and he also achieved nine international caps representing Montenegro.

Matija, who started his profession with Aston Villa, has also played for Livingston, Stoke, and most recently, Millwall.
