Ackerley and Robbie have been happily married since 2016 and are partners in a successful production company called LuckyChap. Some of the movies they have worked on together include Saltburn, Promising Young Woman, and even Barbie.
In the June 2016 edition of Vogue magazine, Robbie shared insights about her relationship with Ackerley. They first met on the set of the World War II film Suite Française in 2013, starting off as just friends. Robbie mentioned that she used to be very independent and the thought of being in a relationship made her feel sick. However, her feelings for Ackerley grew over time. Eventually, she realized that they were meant to be together. Ackerley, on the other hand, described Robbie as the most attractive person in London. In a 2024 interview with The Sunday Times, Ackerley revealed that he and Robbie spend nearly every day working and communicating with each other. He explained that their relationship is seamless and they don't have set boundaries between work and personal life.
