Madonna's 'Celebration' Tour Will Feature a 'Highly Evolved Storyline' and Over 40 Songs

The musical director, Stuart Price, expressed his admiration for the pop icon's appearance, vocals, and stage presence, following a worrisome health incident.

Stuart Price, the musical director for Madonna, gave a preview of the pop icon's forthcoming "Celebration Tour," saying that it will showcase her extensive musical journey, including all types of popular music. He revealed that a "greatest hit" for Madonna could be something beyond a mere song, such as an outfit, a music video, or a message. According to Price, the show will be a comprehensive view of Madonna's career over time.

According to Price, there will be more than 40 songs on the show's setlist. About 25 of these songs will be played in their entirety, while approximately 20 others will be shortened in some way, such as being used as "transitions" between show segments. Price acknowledged that this was a difficult task to complete in just two hours of performance time. However, he reassured fans that all of the great moments of the artist's career were incorporated in some way into the show.

Surprisingly, Price mentioned that Madonna won't have a live band performing with her on stage like she's had for many years, except when she did shows in clubs at the beginning of her career. In its place, Madonna will perform using the original multi-track recordings: “During different sections of the show, there are live musicians,” Price explained. “However, we have come to realize that the original recordings are truly the stars of the show. They cannot be replicated nor recreated, so we have decided to fully embrace them.”

According to Price, the show will feature a captivating plot that has been thoughtfully constructed. Madonna has looked back on her life and career, starting from her early days as a young woman in New York and experiencing the city's culture, all the way up to becoming a mother and discovering spirituality. The story that emerged from this introspection is truly fascinating.

This Saturday, Oct. 14, marks the starting event of Madonna's much-anticipated Celebration tour in London. Following the U.K. and European shows, she will embark on a North American journey, commencing on Dec. 13 in Brooklyn and continuing through the spring of 2024.

In January, it was announced that Madonna would be going on the Celebration Tour. However, she had to cancel it in June due to being hospitalized for a severe bacterial infection. Some time after going to the hospital, Madonna shared on Instagram that her initial concerns when waking up were for her children and not wanting to let down those who had purchased tickets for the tour and those who had worked hard to prepare for the shows. She expressed regret about disappointing anyone.

During the interview, Price shared that Madonna is now completely healed and remarked that, "The upcoming performer is going to look astonishing, sound remarkable, and put on an extraordinary show." He recognized that the postponement allowed the innovative staff to advance the performance even more. Furthermore, he acknowledged that Madonna was grateful for the chance to concentrate on recovering fully.
