An incident involving a watermelon accident on the M25 has resulted in significant traffic congestion and extensive delays in the vicinity of the Dartford Crossing.

AA has reported that there are currently two lanes shut down and a traffic build-up of four miles near Junction 31 in the clockwise direction.

According to a tweet from National Highways (@HighwaysEAST), they have requested the presence of a road sweeper to eliminate the mess.

The accident has caused a delay of 20 minutes for those traveling, and traffic continues to increase as drivers approach the area.

According to the complete statement from AA, there are significant delays, heavy traffic spanning four miles, and one lane shut down on the M25 clockwise at junction 31 A1306 (Lakeside / Purfleet) due to watermelons being spilled.

Traffic is backed up for approximately two miles starting from junction 29 on the A127 in Romford, and for one mile heading towards London on the A13 beyond Thurrock.
