An air ambulance was dispatched to the scene of a severe motorcycle accident on the M25 motorway.

The highway was shut down in both directions between exit 5 for Sevenoaks, close to the M26, and exit 6 for the Godstone exit.

The eastbound lane has been closed for an investigation into the accident, and the M26 is also shut for traffic heading towards London, specifically between junction 3 and the M25. This situation was still in effect as of 9 PM.

Emergency responders, such as police and air ambulance teams, arrived at the location just after noon today.

Drivers in the area are still being cautioned about possible delays and are encouraged to seek out different routes.

A tweet from the @KentPolice7oaks account shortly after 5 PM announced that the M25 road blockades had been removed.

At 5:27, National Highways informed its followers on X: “The #M25 is still CLOSED heading clockwise between junctions 5 and 6 near #Godstone because of a serious incident.”

"Vehicles stuck in the closed area are moving through lane 1. There are delays of 90 minutes in the clockwise direction and 120 minutes in the anti-clockwise direction."

At 6:16 PM, the official Kent Police X account announced: "The #M25 is still closed between Junction 5 close to the #M26 and Junction 6 at the Godstone exit due to a serious accident that took place earlier today."

Drivers should prepare for considerable hold-ups and, if they can, seek out different paths.

By 7 PM, drivers traveling in a clockwise direction faced a delay of an hour and a half, whereas those going anti-clockwise dealt with a 40-minute wait.

As of 8:09 PM, the delays had decreased to 30 minutes in the clockwise direction between exits 4 and 5.
