Lucy Beaumont has finally opened up about her breakup with comedian Jon Richardson.

In April of this year, they revealed that they had mutually and amicably decided to end their marriage and follow different paths, shortly after the fifth season of their show premiered.

This week, it was also announced that Jon, who is 42 years old, has come to an agreement for a multi-million dollar payment from Lucy, who is 41.

The comedians tied the knot in 2015 thanks to the matchmaking efforts of a mutual friend and fellow comedian, Roisin Conaty, who starred in "After Life."

The couple celebrated the arrival of their daughter in 2016.

Lucy has finally spoken out about their breakup, explaining why she and Jon decided to keep the specifics of their relationship's conclusion to themselves.

The comedian shared with OK! Magazine, "Some might expect me to discuss it since we were so open about our relationship and everyone recognized us as a couple. However, I choose not to talk about it, and it's not due to any bad feelings," Lucy clarified.

We both decided that even though it might seem strange to others not to mention it, we wouldn’t discuss our marriage or each other at all.

The couple's relationship was widely recognized by the public, mainly because of their humorous joint projects, such as the hit television series Meet The Richardsons, which offered a glimpse into their life as a married couple.

Their on-screen and off-screen connection endeared them to fans, but even with their successful collaboration, their marriage came to an end earlier this year. Jon agreed to pay Lucy a settlement of £1.625 million.

During the interview, Lucy suggested that she is entering a more confident phase of her life now that she has turned forty.

"I don't feel much change, honestly. I'm just a bit more frustrated and less tolerant of nonsense from others," she explained.

The interview follows the recent resurfacing of a segment from their joint appearance on the show 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown. In the clip, Lucy provides an open and honest evaluation of their marriage.

In the video from the episode, host Jimmy Carr inquired of Lucy, “What led you to make the choice to settle down?”

She responded by saying, "I don't envision this lasting forever. Isn't there a song called 'Just Passing Through'? It talks about how some things are only for a season or a reason, not necessarily for a lifetime."

Throughout your life, you encounter various types of people—wise ones, fresh faces, and some who aren't so pleasant. Before meeting Jon, I had never tried an avocado. We've built a beautiful life together and welcomed a daughter into the world.

"Nobody can predict what the future holds."

A shocked Jon then asked Lucy if she was ‘terminating things now,’ which got a chuckle from the crowd.

Many fans are taken aback by the news of Lucy and Jon's marriage ending, as they are one of the UK's most cherished comedic duos.
