Liz Truss has supported the candidacy of Donald Trump for this year's US presidential election, stating that the world was in a more secure state during his time in the White House.
The prime minister who held office for the shortest duration in the UK stated that the world is on the edge of a very intense conflict and requires a powerful America right now more than ever before.
She made these remarks as Mr. Trump's initial illegal court proceedings commenced in New York.
The most likely candidate for the Republican party to run in the upcoming November election is Mr. Trump.
Ms. Truss, who gave a speech at a gathering in the US that supported President Trump, expressed her opinion that those who oppose the Western world are more frightened of Trump's term as President than they are of a Democratic administration under Joe Biden.
When she spoke to BBC, Ms. Truss pointed out that Mr. Trump has a more forceful approach in dealing with Iran and China. Additionally, she commended Mr. Trump's backing of Ukraine, even allowing the purchase of anti-tank Javelin missiles, despite opposition from his fellow Republicans who aimed to prevent military aid from being given to Ukraine.
She expressed that she doesn't completely endorse every single thing he has uttered.
However, she stated that she concurs with the notion that the globe was much more secure during the time when Donald Trump served as the President of the United States.
I am eager to collaborate with like-minded conservatives in addressing what I perceive to be an actual danger posed by radical left-wing ideologies to the stability and progress of Western society and civilization.
She stated to the BBC that she would back Nigel Farage in his bid to become a Member of Parliament if he rejoins the Conservative party.
During an interview with the Newscast podcast, Ms Truss expressed her opinion about the creator of Ukip and Reform UK political parties. According to her, the individual in question supports conservative principles; nevertheless, she believes it to be unfortunate that he's not a member of the Conservative Party.
At this year's Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), Liz Truss delivered a speech in support of President Trump.
Before her new book was released, Ms. Truss gave a speech discussing her political beliefs and the brief time she spent at Downing Street.
She claimed that she was compelled to leave her position just 49 days after taking office due to the influence of influential individuals within the government bureaucracy.
In October 2022, Ms Truss had to resign due to the upheaval caused by her mini-budget on the economy. Her stint as the prime minister was brief, making her the shortest-serving one in the UK's history.
She refused to admit that her removal from office was shameful. She stated, "It was a challenging experience, no doubt. However, I don't consider it humiliating."
According to her, she had entered the job with plans to make some alterations, but was unsuccessful.
She stated: "However, is it truly more dreadful than not attempting to begin with? Is it worse than being deceitful and false about my intentions to make an effort and fulfill tasks but ultimately not doing them? Is it worse than holding a position in the prominent Number 10 and being inactive? My personal conviction is that it isn't, which might differentiate from the views of others."
Ms Truss stated that her and Kwasi Kwarteng's strategy for cutting taxes to stimulate development was weakened by entities such as the Bank of England and the Office of Budget Responsibility (OBR).
The public officials didn't alert her to the fact that the UK's economy was particularly vulnerable to the risks associated with Liability Driven Investments (LDIs). These investments usually involve putting money into government bonds, as they are generally deemed to be quite secure.
The Bank of England had to commence repurchasing government bonds since the LDIs were on the verge of falling apart. As a result, they could have been compelled to hastily vend off other possessions.
She expressed that she had dedicated numerous months being accused and held responsible, with individuals blaming her and criticizing her relentlessly. They had gone as far as tarnishing her reputation.
The Bank of England played a major part in the events that took place, as did the Office of Budget Responsibility. Both entities had a significant impact on the outcome.
I haven't witnessed them receiving the same amount of close examination or interrogation as me.
Ms. Truss has argued that these institutions are the main issue with how Britain is governed and that they need to be eliminated if the country wants to prosper. This includes Andrew Bailey resigning from his role as governor of the Bank of England and getting rid of the OBR.
Transferring power away from officials who were elected by the people has resulted in ministers feeling ineffective when confronted by an excessively large civil service, according to her statement.
I discovered that politicians were entrusted with the responsibility but lacked the power to make a real change. Conversely, quangocrats have been granted power but lacked accountability, resulting in added job security.
A representative from the Bank of England stated that they have already addressed their response to the LDI crisis completely, including presenting it to Parliament, and do not have any additional comments to make.
According to Ms Truss, the solution to our political system is a thorough revamping which involves "getting rid of a lot of things".
Global institutions such as the United Nations (UN), deemed to have lost their "raison d'être," are also at risk of being eliminated.
The current presence of China and Russia in the UN Security Council is not effectively ensuring safety around the globe.
Currently, it has not been successful in handling global issues and has actually caused harm.
She mentioned that there is a division going on within the Conservative party, where some members - like herself - believe that Britain requires major changes in its institutions, as they have been influenced by leftist ideologies. On the other hand, there are those who do not share this viewpoint and are unwilling to take extreme measures.
She expressed that there is a requirement for an adequate quantity of MPs who comprehend the issue and are willing to cast their vote to eliminate the quangos.
