Manchester United line up Leny Yoro medical in transfer battle with Real Madrid

Leny Yoro

Manchester United's efforts to sign Leny Yoro before Real Madrid have been given a big boost. The defender is scheduled to undergo a medical exam and complete negotiations on a potential €62m (£52m) move from Lille.

The young 18-year-old defender was planning to travel to Manchester, showing a strong indication that Yoro may pick United instead of Madrid. He had previously been thinking about joining the European champions.

Madrid values Yoro less than United and were not in a rush to sign him. They are considering the possibility of waiting until next summer when his contract with Lille ends to bring him on board.

This means Lille is hoping that Yoro will sign with United. Madrid might attempt to convince the player to choose them instead, but if Yoro decides to join United, it will be seen as a win for the football operation led by Sir Jim Ratcliffe, especially for Dan Ashworth, who started as the sporting director on July 1st.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka is catching the eye of West Ham, as Manchester United is willing to let go of the right-back, who has one year left on his current contract. The potential selling price for the 26-year-old player would be around £15 million.
